00:00 Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:02 A Derbyshire care home has been ordered to improve by inspectors from the industry regulator
00:07 after safety failings were discovered for the second time this year.
00:10 An unannounced inspection team visited Lillibank Hamlet care home on Chesterfield and Road in
00:16 Matlock to assess progress on a number of safety issues first identified in January.
00:20 Their original report concluded with an overall rating of 'requires improvement for the facility'
00:27 based on the same rating of its safety and leadership criteria.
00:30 But in an update published recently it was downgraded to 'inadequate on safety'
00:35 however the overall rating was unchanged.
00:37 The new report states 'this means people were not safe and were at risk of avoidable harm'.
00:43 At our last inspection the provider had failed to ensure care and treatment was being provided in a
00:48 safe way for people. Mick Ogle who is compliance manager at the home's parent company Progressive
00:54 Care said 'we've considered the report in detail and have fed back to them on a number of areas
00:58 where we feel it does not reflect the reality of our service providing evidence. There is no
01:03 suggestion that any harm has come to our residents and we are pleased that all the feedback from
01:07 residents and relatives in the report is positive. However our primary focus is on addressing any
01:13 areas where improvements can be made so that we can continue to provide excellent care that the
01:17 CQC themselves describe as kind and compassionate'.
01:22 North Derbyshire residents enjoyed the sight of some iconic aircraft in our skies over the weekend.
01:27 Residents got to see both the world-famous Red Arrows display team
01:31 and the iconic Lancaster bomber as they flew over Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
