Yellow bathroom tiles - yay or nay?
Transcript
00:00 My bathroom tiles have been called many names,
00:02 and some would ask, "Why yellow of all colors?"
00:06 I'm Letitia, a DIY home creator
00:08 that's part fixing up, part preserving
00:10 her '70s fixer-upper, and I firmly believe
00:12 that it's not the yellow tile that's the problem.
00:15 It's the color palette of this washroom.
00:17 While there's a larger reno in the plans for this bathroom,
00:20 for now we can do some necessary updating
00:22 with minimal effort.
00:24 We're keeping the retro feel with pops of color and decor,
00:27 and to support that, I chose this warm white
00:29 called Ivory Canvas from ColorSpark.
00:32 ColorSpark offers colors that have been carefully curated
00:34 by an interior designer, and I get an uplift
00:37 that modernizes the bathroom
00:39 without losing its original charm.
00:41 The ColorSpark line is pre-tinted,
00:43 meaning you don't have to wait at the store
00:45 for a color sample.
00:46 It's also mold and mildew resistant,
00:48 something very necessary for a washroom
00:50 with questionable ventilation.
00:53 Since I was going from a darker to lighter color,
00:55 I only needed one coat after primer,
00:57 and all that old green paint was gone.
01:00 Minimal demolition makeover is sort of uncommon for me.
01:03 I'm a go big or go home kind of gal,
01:05 but wow, what a huge difference these minor upgrades did
01:08 to my main bathroom.
01:10 I'm glad I trusted my instincts on this funky color palette.
01:13 It's giving a fresh spark of life to an old room.
