00:10What's up everyone, Ashna here. Alright, get ready to raise your glasses because I'm about
00:14to take you on a tour to some of Toronto's best happy hour spots. I'm talking $3 tacos,
00:20$1 oysters, half price bottles of wine. So today we're going to go down King Street West.
00:25It's one of the hottest areas of Toronto for restaurants and nightlife. Alright, let's go.
00:30Our first stop is Anejo, a Mexican spot with a long tequila menu.
00:34From 3 to 5pm, they have $6 margs, $3 tacos and half price tequila.
00:39Actually, they even have a happy hour after 10 o'clock from 10 to 12.
00:42Right when we walked in, the place was already buzzing. It felt so festive.
00:45So first impression, the vibes were great. And I found out that they make fresh guac on the table.
00:50It's not on their happy hour menu, but my mouth was watering already.
00:53So our Mexican restaurant, when it comes to tequila, tacos and margaritas,
00:56we have over a hundred different choices.
00:58I love that there was a long list of margs and tacos to choose from.
01:01We ordered the mango and raspberry jalapeno margaritas.
01:05It's good, it's tangy. It's a little bit spicy, it's good.
01:08And for tacos, we got the chicken tinga and crispy fried tilapia.
01:11I mean, for an $18 meal, you can't really go wrong.
01:13It's a good taco.
01:14Just finished at Anejo and honestly, I had a pretty good time.
01:17Their tacos were good. I mean, it wasn't my favourite taco in the world,
01:20but I'd give it like a 7 out of 10.
01:22For ambiance, I mean, the place was already buzzing at 4pm.
01:26So overall experience, I'd probably give it a 7 or 8 out of 10.
01:29The service was great. The food was good. The margs were great.
01:32And I'd definitely go back.
01:34Our next stop is Barro, a three-floor restaurant serving up South American flavours with a modern twist.
01:39Play nice music.
01:42We got a seat on the rooftop and it was gorgeous.
01:45Oh my gosh, this is so nice.
01:47The big windows let in so much fresh air and natural light, I felt like I was in another country.
01:52Patio is beautiful, but it's 30 degrees outside and the sun is hitting my face a little high.
01:56So the happy hour menu is a little small.
01:58There are three drinks to choose from priced at $16 and $15 and three apps between $10 and $11.
02:04I ordered a Mai Tai and lamb skewers.
02:06Look at how beautiful this Mai Tai looks.
02:09It's like in a fake coconut looking glass.
02:13That's delicious. This is a delicious cocktail.
02:17They definitely know what they're doing.
02:19All the food served on the rooftop is barbecued on this open charcoal grill.
02:23Okay, here are the lamb skewers with chimichurri mayo. Let's try this out.

02:35The meat is tender. It's well seasoned.
02:38This is really, really good. I want more.
02:40Just left Barrow. It was my first time going there and I loved it.
02:45I really didn't feel like I was in Toronto anymore.
02:47I felt like I was in Mexico actually.
02:50The lamb was amazing. The drinks also 10 out of 10.
02:54Overall, I would 150% go back.
02:57The place was awesome. The drinks were delicious.
02:59And the music was really, really good too.
03:01This is Belfast Love. I'm not going to get a chance to check it out.
03:04They actually just started a new happy hour menu from 12 to 5.
03:08That's a pretty long happy hour.
03:09They have $5 bomber loggers and $9 free house spritz cocktails,
03:13which is like their house cocktail.
03:15I've been here before, not on a happy hour, and I really enjoyed it.
03:18It's also a place you can think about checking out.
03:20Next, we headed to Locals Only, a lower level bar with a street patio.
03:23We decided to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day.
03:26And today they have Buc-A-Shuck oysters, half price bottles of wine,
03:31and Prosecco from 5 to 7 p.m.
03:34I ordered a bottle of wine, which came out to be $24 with a discount,
03:37six oysters, and a watermelon salad.
03:39The oysters are served with the restaurant's house-made habanero sauce.
03:42And let's just say I was not prepared.
03:45It was so spicy.
03:48Okay, just finished up at Locals Only. Such a great spot.
03:51I've never been there before. I love how the patio comes onto the road.
03:55You can see people walking. You really get the vibe of King West.
03:59So let's rate it. Food, I mean, there weren't many food options.
04:02There was only oysters for a Buc-A-Shuck.
04:05The oysters were kind of small, though.
04:07So there was $1 Buc-A-Shuck oysters, and then half price wine,
04:10which is a pretty good deal for a Friday.
04:13Overall ambiance, the music was great.
04:16I love how we could talk to the people around us.
04:18So I'm going to give this spot a 7.5 out of 10.
04:20Ruby Soho is also a really popular spot on King West.
04:23It's right on King and Portland.
04:25And as you can see, there's a lineup outside. It's really busy.
04:28Their happy hour is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
04:32And they have a really good selection on their menu.
04:35They have a bunch of beers on tap for $7, cocktails $2 off.
04:39They have shots, wines for $9.
04:41And they have a couple of menu options for $10.
04:45Next, we're going to check out Mademoiselle Raw Bar & Grill.
04:48They've recently been promoting their happy hour, so let's go see what they have.
04:51Mademoiselle is a swanky restaurant serving up an extensive drink menu
04:55and dishes inspired by the European coastline.
04:57Their happy hour includes glasses of wine from $10 to $15
05:00and cocktails ranging from $12 to $22.
05:06This is the Madem. It's their signature drink.
05:08And it tastes like a lemon cream sapoche.
05:11For apps, we got the mini lobster rolls, snapper ceviche, and lamb chops.
05:15They were all very tasty.
05:16Then the manager came out with a big surprise.
05:19Holy moly!
05:21This is amazing!
05:25What is this?
05:27My favorite was their signature F.U. roll.
05:29It goes for $100.
05:30And no, it's not on their happy hour menu.
05:32Just left Mademoiselle. That place is a vibe.
05:35It feels like you're in a mix of Mykonos and Miami.
05:38It was awesome.
05:40So ambiance, 10 out of 10.
05:42The food was amazing.
05:44Price point, definitely more expensive than other happy hours you find on King West.
05:50But an elevated happy hour.
05:52I don't think you're going to get that quality of food anywhere else.
05:56At least not from what I've seen.
05:58I will definitely come back to this place.
06:00Maybe with a little bit more money in my pocket next time.
