00:02 Next game up, we are hitting here,
00:07 Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.
00:09 This was a 7.30 Eastern, 6.30 local time
00:13 in Oxford, Mississippi.
00:16 The Grove was rocking, Vought-Hemingway was rocking.
00:19 48 points as they beat Georgia Tech.
00:21 The Ramblin' Wreck, 48 to 23.
00:24 They cover the 17 here, Mark.
00:27 62 being the total gets up and over
00:30 to take away anything from Oxford, Mississippi on Saturday.
00:35 - Yeah, look at the sandwich spot
00:36 that Ole Miss was in this week.
00:37 Last week, their win over Tulane,
00:40 and cover that probably shouldn't have been the case,
00:45 at least not the cover,
00:46 and then they get a weak Georgia Tech team,
00:48 and then they gotta go to Tuscaloosa next week
00:50 to take on Alabama.
00:51 So this was a spot that I stayed off the game.
00:55 I know a lot of sharp people who are on Georgia Tech.
00:57 This number opened up at 19 and a half.
00:59 It went to 20 and a half.
01:01 It went back down to 19 and a half,
01:02 and you can see where it closed before kickoff.
01:05 My biggest fear, and I told people who I know
01:08 in the industry about backing Georgia Tech
01:11 was that they don't have a defense
01:13 that could ever stop Ole Miss.
01:15 Ole Miss could score at will pretty much
01:17 on a defense like Georgia Tech,
01:18 and the other thing which scares me
01:20 is that the lane train never stops running.
01:23 It never, ever, ever stops running,
01:25 and Lane Kiffin, if he has six seconds left on the clock,
01:28 will run a play to try to score a touchdown.
01:30 That's just who he is.
01:31 He has no regard for anything
01:32 other than finding the end zone with the football,
01:35 so, and that's kinda what happened here.
01:37 There was a, it was under two minutes left,
01:39 and instead of him just kneeling on it,
01:40 hands the ball off, and they run it
01:42 right down the field in for a touchdown,
01:43 and that took it from a game that was 17, 18,
01:46 and probably within the number,
01:48 depending on what you got it at,
01:49 to a game that was 25.
01:51 So, Ole Miss gets the cover here.
01:54 They avoid the look-ahead spot,
01:55 and now they gotta go to Tuscaloosa next week
01:58 against an Alabama team that is as ripe
02:01 for the picking as Alabama has ever, ever been,
02:04 and this is a game that people at Ole Miss
02:07 100% believe that they can win.
02:09 They're not worried about covering the 6 1/2,
02:11 which I absolutely love.
02:12 I kinda, you know, it would be massive disrespect
02:16 to make, you know, they couldn't make Alabama
02:20 a 7 1/2 point favorite here,
02:22 just because, which is probably what, you know,
02:25 my knee-jerk reaction would have been,
02:26 but 6 1/2 is very, very telling in how much respect
02:29 that they are giving to Mississippi here
02:32 by not making them a 7 1/2 point dog,
02:35 because sharp bettors would jump all over Mississippi
02:37 over a touchdown, so I still like Mississippi here.
02:40 I would have probably made this game 3 1/2 or four,
02:43 but I think we get a little bit of value
02:46 at this line where it is.
02:46 I don't see this thing ever reaching seven.
02:49 Maybe there'll be some buyback on Saturday,
02:51 depending on where this number goes on Alabama,
02:54 but if Ole Miss was ever gonna knock off Alabama,
02:58 this is the absolute weekend season to do it.
