00:00 [Spooky music]
00:04 [Spooky wind]
00:06 It's Spooky Ween!
00:07 And to celebrate, let's talk about a g-g-g-g-ghost!
00:11 Or more of a clown demon.
00:13 So I guess "it" is the better reference.
00:14 I don't have a red balloon though, so Simon,
00:16 could you photoshop a red balloon into my hand?
00:19 [Ding]
00:20 Yeah, cheers.
00:21 This is a hard one, and I'm not sure I'm the man for the job,
00:24 but everyone on our Patreon is making me do it,
00:27 so here we go.
00:28 Title of my sex tape.
00:29 The Fiend is probably the best character to debut in WWE since Kane,
00:34 and mostly at the control of Bray Wyatt.
00:36 He's done some brilliant stuff,
00:38 including my favorite thing to happen in wrestling in the last, like,
00:41 nine years in the Firefly Funhouse match.
00:44 Now, The Fiend encapsulates one of the reasons I love wrestling,
00:48 in that he's a character that comes armed with lore.
00:51 Now, it's obvious that Bray loves comics,
00:53 not least because of this very on-the-severed-nose reference
00:55 to the Joker wearing his own face in Scott Snyder's Batman comic,
00:58 but also because all of his gimmicks have been tied together
01:01 in one single self-referential timeline.
01:04 Husky Harris was your normal fella.
01:06 Bray Wyatt needed a vessel,
01:08 so his zombie swamp spirit inhabited Harris,
01:12 and then finally, The Fiend has arisen from Bray's shattered mind,
01:16 a circus-themed hulk/vampire/werewolf
01:20 that occasionally claws its way out of mild-mannered Bray Wyatt
01:23 whenever he's let in.
01:24 It's a gimmick that feels like it comes with required reading,
01:27 not least because Bray snuck a Tim and Eric Awesome Show
01:30 Great Job reference onto WWE programming, you sexy beast.
01:33 And you could almost teach a course on what everything means.
01:36 Huskus the Pig Boy is Husky Harris,
01:39 constantly body-shamed and brutalized.
01:41 Mercy the Buzzard is Waylon Mercy,
01:43 the gimmick that originally inspired Bray Wyatt,
01:46 or perhaps the spirit of Waylon is the creature who possessed Husky.
01:52 Husky Harris's vessel. There's a lot in here.
01:55 And I wonder who this money-eating evil devil is supposed to be.
02:00 Laurie's already run through all of this in his Explained video, Give That A Watch.
02:04 The Fiend is really good, basically.
02:06 Layered, smart, appealing to diehard fans and casual fans,
02:10 and also WWE has no idea what to do with it.
02:14 To illustrate this point, let's compare Bray and The Fiend to someone like Kevin Owens,
02:18 who is the best example of a more standard WWE character right now.
02:21 Comes from the indies, very charismatic, not a gimmick so much as someone
02:25 who does soap opera wrestling things, but for very understandable real-life reasons.
02:30 He wants to win the title to get more money, to provide his family a better life.
02:33 You also understand why he would be in WWE.
02:37 Ever since WWE pulled back the fourth wall in the 2010s,
02:40 hell, you could trace this all the way back to The Screwjob.
02:43 It's had the effect of grounding all of the characters on TV.
02:47 So they exist in this kind of business industry framework.
02:51 There are wrestlers, there are management, there's brass rings, etc.
02:56 Opportunities seizing all that, you know, corporate speak.
02:59 Before that, WWE was just this little village where you'd meet another colourful character
03:03 who just happened to live there and, you know, just happened to be a vampire or a undertaker
03:10 or a Heidenreich, you know, there goes the baker with his tray like always.
03:15 The Fiend gimmick belongs more in that sort of village mentality of WWE,
03:20 and WWE don't know how to frame him in their current, more mundane universe.
03:25 Case in point, they put the title on him.
03:27 Like, I'm not saying The Fiend can't win the title, but why would he want to?
03:33 He's a clown, and he's dead, isn't he?
03:37 Like, if he does, that actually restricts what you can do with him,
03:40 because suddenly you have to frame his stories around his very industry-based prize.
03:44 And the title almost dictates the kind of opponents that Bray needs to have.
03:47 No wonder he wore the title around his neck. It was a f***ing albatross.
03:51 All of The Fiend's major failures have happened because that f***ing belt meant
03:57 compromises had to be made to the character.
04:00 The same character that Bray was supposed to be steadily and carefully building.
04:04 The Fiend is a horror movie character, and horror movies have a structure.
04:07 The killer has to be invincible to start off with,
04:11 and that's going to be a major issue if suddenly he's got your belt.
04:15 Everything was going swimmingly until Hell in a Cell.
04:19 Yeah, Hell in- yeah, I'm- I don't want to talk about it too much because it's just dog s***.
04:24 But because the brass were squeamish about ending
04:26 Rollin's title run and rushing the title onto The Fiend,
04:28 the match ended in a diarrhea finish involving our invincible monster just
04:32 laying there while Seth hit him with gradually more and more of his f***ing garage.
04:36 We're still in the stage of the horror movie where The Fiend needs to be invincible
04:40 and terrifying, and the title and the main event being involved wrecked that.
04:45 Then he won the belt in Saudi Arabia, which is very much the
04:49 killer clown of wrestling territories, and I'm including the juggler wrestling territory in that.
04:54 He feuded with Daniel Bryan and The Miz in pretty rote, spooky storylines.
04:58 Home invasion, done before.
05:00 Crawling up through the ring and dragging you to hell, done before.
05:03 They started to expose issues with The Fiend's matches,
05:07 which is how do you make constant no-selling compelling?
05:11 Speaking of no-selling, hello Goldberg, eat s***.
05:16 A popped rating on Smackdown led to Goldberg beating the unbeatable monster with a lame-ass
05:22 suplex, not even a jackhammer, to win the title, which no one wanted or believed,
05:26 and The Fiend threw the biggest shade of all by promptly forgetting about the title.
05:30 "The Fiend is ruined!" said emotionally trigger-happy fans who were sick of seeing
05:34 brave b******s creating layered, innovative gimmicks only to be beaten by
05:39 the proven draw and become jobber to the stars.
05:42 Again.
05:44 But then The Fiend murdered John Cena at WrestleMania.
05:48 All is forgiven.
05:50 The Firefly Funhouse match is honestly the best.
05:53 I go into more detail in my list of top 10 favourite matches, you know, clickity-click.
05:59 So I'm not going to do that again, but let's just say it was the sugar daddy likes.
06:03 Then came a feud with Strowman that oddly saw the killer demon who snapped people's
06:08 necks and wore a severed clown face and, you know, also hit people with a giant comedy mallet turn
06:15 face.
06:16 They had reasonably interesting matches involving puppets and swamps before The Fiend won the
06:21 Universal title again at SummerSlam, and that was overshadowed by the return, and heel turn,
06:26 of Roman Reigns.
06:27 He's since moved to Raw, aligned with Alexa Bliss, who is so much the Harley to his Mr.
06:33 J that I'm expecting her to start shooting people with a gun with a cork in it.
06:36 And he's a vague face that attacks Retribution despite the fact that they want to destroy
06:42 WWE, which is also what he wanted at one point.
06:46 And if I'm being completely honest, The Fiend is currently being overused.
06:49 The Fiend is still great.
06:50 He survived a lot of things that could have derailed a lesser character, but it's been a
06:55 bumpy ride.
06:56 And let me have a go.
06:59 So one of the things I like most about The Fiend, even if it's not something that I think
07:06 particularly works in practice, is the long-running effects that come from putting a haunted clown in
07:12 the middle of your roster.
07:13 Things change, and that's cool.
07:15 The long-running fan theory, which has been acknowledged by WWE and made fun of by Kevin
07:20 Owens on Twitter, is the idea of The Fiend running through the roster like some sort of
07:24 heel virus.
07:26 And he sort of has, and he sort of hasn't.
07:28 Rollins turned heel and went into Mr. Mind Games.
07:31 Balor went to NXT and turned into the f***ing Prince.
07:34 Strowman turned heel and went full monster.
07:37 Alexa Bliss is now a possessed marionette.
07:39 And I really am just going to walk past the fact that I pitched Alexa embrace spooky power
07:44 a couple four years ago.
07:46 Just move it.
07:47 Just, just moving past it.
07:49 Where's my f***ing royalty check, you goddamn motherfu-
07:52 So The Fiend murdered John Cena, but also Goldberg didn't change, and Daniel Bryan just
07:59 got a haircut.
08:00 Wait a minute.
08:01 Strowman got a haircut.
08:02 Alexa Bliss has got a haircut.
08:05 Is The Fiend just a really intense hairstyle influencer?
08:08 Is he just the evil version of Jonathan from Queer Eye?
08:11 Now you could argue that it still makes sense that Bryan was too resilient to let The Fiend
08:14 in, which is why he survived, and Goldberg is just too dumb to be corrupted.
08:19 Years of headbutting doors doesn't leave you much of a brain to wash.
08:22 I like the idea that if you're not strong enough to resist, The Fiend will bring out
08:26 your worst heel traits.
08:27 That's cool.
08:28 Don't know if it's fully sustainable, you know, because you're going to destroy your
08:32 entire roster eventually.
08:33 But it's all very horror movie, very psychological, you know, the "beware that when fighting
08:36 monsters you yourself do not become a monster.
08:38 Thanks, Neech, you wang-obsessed cokehead."
08:41 There's definitely something there, but it feels more like work that the fans have done
08:46 after the fact to clean up all these loose threads from WWE not quite being sure how
08:50 to use The Fiend and how people thought, you know, he was cooler than Rollins and Strowman,
08:55 so they basically just had to turn those guys heel and then the fans have sort of cobbled
09:00 this whole theory together.
09:01 Anyway, first things first, maybe we need to nail down what is The Fiend?
09:06 Is The Fiend a part of Bray Wyatt's psyche that grew inside him like clown mold, or is
09:11 he an external force that has inhabited Bray and wears him like a men in black skin suit?
09:16 Is The Fiend a psychological reaction to Wyatt's failure?
09:19 "Limbo is no place for a soul like yours, man."
09:23 Etc.
09:24 Or is he a new creature, but also he can teleport?
09:28 Crucially, I'm going to go with the Joker on this and say it doesn't matter.
09:34 As the clown prince of crime would himself say in Alan Moore's excellent killing joke,
09:38 "If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice."
09:43 Nailing down what The Fiend is restricts him.
09:46 It's a bit more boring.
09:47 But what needs to be crystal clear, I think, from the off is what does The Fiend want?
09:53 Now, you may not know where the Joker comes from and that gives him more power, but he
09:56 has expressed definite wants in the past.
09:59 Like in the killing joke, he wanted to prove that everyone is like him.
10:03 That we're all one bad day away from madness.
10:07 Now, what The Fiend wants feels like it's changed a lot.
10:10 Does he want to destroy WWE, which they had a fun house match made it feel like he was
10:15 obscuring the entire industry?
10:17 Does The Fiend want the world to put on a happy face?
10:20 Does he want to rule it like Taker did back at his Ministry of Darkness days?
10:24 Does he want a family?
10:25 A 2.4 with his wife, So Fiend, and his son, Krista Fiend, and his daughter, Samantha Fiend.
10:36 To be fair, you'd f***ing watch that sitcom.
10:38 You would.
10:39 So here's my pitch.
10:40 It's been touched on by real life and there's definite stuff in the lore that backs this
10:44 up.
10:45 The Fiend doesn't want championships.
10:47 Doesn't want a family.
10:49 The Fiend was either contacted or created by Bray Wyatt for one purpose, which is that
10:54 a lot of people have wronged me.
10:56 And in the words of Lance Archer, "Everybody dies."
11:00 Years of Bray Wyatt being mishandled.
11:02 Years of doily on the head, spooky fridge, wasted potential.
11:06 It broke Bray.
11:07 It sent him into the wilderness where the rage and the sadness made him do a very, very
11:12 bad thing.
11:13 He let The Fiend in.
11:15 Now this has sort of been explicitly a part of The Fiend's backstory already, but I
11:18 want to make it clear from the off and have it inform every single person The Fiend wrestles
11:22 and why he wrestles them.
11:24 Also, and this is important, we should be seeing The Fiend in a wrestling ring maybe
11:28 like four times a year.
11:30 That's because the only major downside of the Fiend persona is it's f***ing fragile.
11:34 If The Fiend stumbles or botches or is forced to lie down while someone piles a ladder and
11:39 a toolbox and a stupid f***ing pointers, it breaks.
11:43 Bray, we should see more of.
11:44 Bray can fail, because Bray's just a man.
11:46 The Fiend is the nuclear option.
11:49 Everybody dies.
11:50 So Bray Wyatt debuts in the funhouse.
11:53 Build that story.
11:54 Destroy the old Bray Wyatt figure with the chainsaw.
11:57 Give him a funeral.
11:58 Reincorporate lines from Bray's old promos.
12:01 What happened to you was such a tragedy.
12:04 Bray puts on the Wyatt hat and burns it while it's still on his head.
12:08 Cut to a supercut footage of all of Bray's failures and then cut back and his head has
12:12 soot on it.
12:13 He takes the soot and he rubs it around his eyes.
12:15 No, man.
12:16 It's not time for that yet.
12:18 The big thing to start off with is a statement of Bray's intent.
12:23 This is going to end badly for all of us, but especially 10 little soldiers.
12:31 I've made a list and he's going to make the rounds and he'll see you all very soon.
12:38 Build to his same SummerSlam debut against Balor with only two changes.
12:41 Don't show the Fiend in the ring until the pay-per-view.
12:43 Strictly keep him to Snatchers and Glimpses in the funhouse.
12:46 And two, don't have him fight Finn Balor.
12:49 Have him fight Demon Finn Balor.
12:52 He targets Finn not only because Finn was part of Bray's ultimate humiliation in the
12:56 fans eyes, you know, that awful Sister Abigail thing, but also because Finn taught him something.
13:02 Finn gave him the greatest gift of all, the power of friendship, because he taught him
13:07 that sometimes you have to look inside.
13:10 Yowie wowie, look way down deep in the dark to find your best friend, Finn.
13:16 Pee-wee Mr. Rogers, Bray and Finn meet in the ring.
13:19 They come to blows and Finn Balor overpowers Bray.
13:22 Bray tells him, "That's more like the Bray Wyatt we all know, huh kids?"
13:26 But the lesson's not over yet, Finn.
13:29 At SummerSlam, bring your friend and I'll bring mine.
13:35 So at SummerSlam, the Fiend debuts and squashes the Demon.
13:40 So if you're gonna send Finn down to NXT anyway, give him even more reason to not wear the
13:47 paint.
13:48 Give him a reason to lash out against everything he used to be.
13:51 The Demon became Balor's crutch, the only thing he had, and the Fiend tore it down.
13:57 And this is what's left of Finn Balor.
14:00 The next time we see the Funhouse, there is a single scratch in the wallpaper.
14:06 A ragged line that runs down the wall.
14:08 One.
14:11 Bray Wyatt turns his attention to Randy Orton.
14:14 There's a plan here.
14:14 He's sort of working his way backwards through all the people he's encountered, all the people
14:19 who exposed Bray Wyatt as being powerless with a haunted tractor and a room full of
14:26 stupid doll heads and a dirty fridge.
14:29 Who took the WWE Championship from him after a PowerPoint presentation of bugs on the ring
14:34 canvas.
14:35 And why did WWE hate Bray Wyatt so much?
14:38 Bray introduces a new member of the Firefly Funhouse called Cobra Keith, who always appears
14:44 by sticking his head out of a gym bag.
14:46 Cobra Keith and Abby do not get on.
14:50 Every time Bray talks to him, he has to confiscate matches from Cobra Keith.
14:54 Don't play with fire, kids.
14:56 And he says to him, every time someone gets close to giving you what you deserve, Cobra
15:02 Keith, you shed your skin, you put on a new face and you slither away.
15:08 But Bray wants to be fair.
15:10 He wants to give Orton a chance to apologize to him, the man, so he can avoid the same
15:16 fate as the demon.
15:17 At Clash of Champions, Randy beats the hell out of Bray Wyatt, including a low blow before
15:22 the bell hits him with the RKO and he pins him.
15:25 In the Funhouse, Bray burns the gym bag with the snake inside.
15:29 I tried, man.
15:30 Abby then challenges Orton to a Hell in a Cell match.
15:35 You burnt down my house, Randy.
15:37 So now we've built a new one for you.
15:41 At Hell in a Cell, Orton faces the Fiend inside the cell, goes for an RKO, but then
15:45 the Fiend snatches him out of the air, slams him to the mat with a mandible claw and crushes
15:50 him to the mat.
15:51 The Fiend beats Orton.
15:53 There are now two jagged lines in the Funhouse.
15:56 Survivor Series approaches and it's the brand warfare thing.
16:00 Smackdown makes a point of not making Bray a part of their Survivor Series team because
16:05 he's mental.
16:07 Bray responds, you can't surprise a man who's been through hell.
16:10 Besides, it's okay, boys and girls.
16:12 I'm going to be a busy bee that night anyway.
16:16 At Survivor Series, Braun Strowman, working on the Smackdown side, is cleaning house when
16:21 suddenly you hear the Fiends scream.
16:24 The lights flicker and go out.
16:26 When they come back on, Braun is nowhere to be found.
16:30 The match continues with Keith Lee being the only man remaining for NXT, Reigns being the
16:34 only man remaining for Smackdown, and Raw having Rollins, Orton and Corbin.
16:39 Suddenly, you hear the scream again and Orton twitches and then RKOs Corbin before leaving
16:47 the match.
16:47 He almost appears to be in a trance.
16:50 This leads Smackdown to winning and so Bray has both helped and hindered Smackdown at
16:55 Survivor Series.
16:56 He hurt and then he healed.
16:58 At TLC, Bray Wyatt targets Braun Strowman.
17:02 He has a little black sheep in his Funhouse but the face keeps falling off and he has
17:06 to keep stapling it back on.
17:09 He wants to be free.
17:10 He wants to forget what he is but you've got to be true to yourself boys and girls.
17:15 At TLC, Bray is being brutalised by Strowman when Randy Orton interferes on Bray's behalf,
17:21 hitting Strowman with an RKO.
17:23 Bray pins Strowman and jumps up and down in celebration.
17:25 Backstage people asking Randy what the hell's going on.
17:27 Randy doesn't remember anything.
17:30 It's sort of like a sleeper agent.
17:31 He's just getting activated when he needs to by the Fiend.
17:34 Strowman goes on a rampage on Smackdown.
17:36 He smashes down doors trying to find Bray.
17:39 When producers and referees try to calm him down, they get his hands, the heel infection
17:45 starts to take hold.
17:46 Meanwhile, Bray adds a third slash mark to the Funhouse.
17:51 One of his little soldiers has been cast out before he got his punishment.
17:55 Gone to play the harp in another place.
17:59 It's a reference to Luke Harper leaving the company.
18:01 This leads to Royal Rumble and Fiend vs Strowman and Braun promises to find his inner monster.
18:09 At the Rumble, you get a similar level of carnage you got at SummerStand.
18:12 They tear the building apart with the Fiend beating Strowman.
18:17 After the match, Strowman again wrecks officials, announcers, particularly Babyface's backstage,
18:23 and particularly Daniel Bryan.
18:26 See, Strowman changes into the monster gimmick he's sort of working with now.
18:30 Instead of making that gimmick shift feel weird because it made him vs the Fiend at
18:34 SummerStand suddenly heel vs heel and also coincided with Strowman going on a losing
18:38 streak instead, he turns heel going into WrestleMania, which is why he's able to beat up Roman Reigns
18:44 so much it sends him home, and also take Roman's spot at Mania and defeat Goldberg.
18:50 Who beat, I guess, Seth Rollins for the belt.
18:52 Why not?
18:54 People will probably hate that less.
18:55 So instead of a bland-faced Braun Universal title run, you get the Monster Heel Braun
19:01 Championship run, which can end at SummerSlam when Roman Reigns returns.
19:05 Strowman has been defeated.
19:07 Four slashes have appeared in the Funhouse.
19:10 Bray turns his attention to Daniel Bryan at Elimination Chamber.
19:13 Bray adds a stuffed goat to the Funhouse, which gets eaten alive by the Black Sheep.
19:18 Once the Sheep gets a taste of blood, it changes him.
19:21 He becomes something else, man.
19:23 Before Elimination Chamber, Braun, again under The Fiend's influence, loses it and
19:28 repeatedly powerslams Daniel Bryan, injuring his ribs.
19:32 Bray, at the pay-per-view, takes advantage of those injuries to beat Bryan.
19:37 Five slashes in the Funhouse.
19:39 Five little soldiers down.
19:41 Then come the other five.
19:43 Then come the Firefly Funhouse matches.
19:47 See, from Mania to Mania, we barely see The Fiend in the ring.
19:51 Instead, he ramps up the intensity of The Fiend's attacks, and they're all Firefly
19:54 Funhouse matches because a) pandemic, and b) the less you see of The Fiend in the ring,
20:00 the better.
20:01 So we get Cena at Mania, and I'm changing nothing about this.
20:05 It's the most laser-focused and brutal character assassination I have ever seen in wrestling.
20:10 From here on out, the last five names on Bray's list get the Funhouse treatment.
20:15 Because also, all five of them don't wrestle full-time and can vanish from the screens
20:20 to really sell The Fiend's destruction.
20:23 After Cena's Funhouse, a sixth slash is added to the Funhouse.
20:27 And at this point, between now and next year's Mania, the Funhouse starts to get more and
20:31 more dirty, falling into disrepair.
20:34 The animals start disappearing as the effect of The Fiend starts to come back and hurt
20:39 Bray himself.
20:40 He starts to beg with people not to bring The Fiend back because he's not sure what's
20:46 going to happen.
20:47 Every time he lets him in, he gets stronger.
20:51 Bray disappears for a while because he's so afraid, but the next time he appears in
20:56 NXT, where Bray Wyatt was born.
21:00 And he's here to confront his father.
21:03 By the way, at seeing Bray in NXT, Finn Balor should freak the f*** out.
21:07 He thought he'd gotten away from The Fiend.
21:09 NXT wrestlers start getting injured.
21:12 Bray's father, Triple H, eventually confronts Bray to try and stop it.
21:17 And they agree to a Firefly Funhouse match at SummerSlam.
21:20 And it's a rundown of Triple H's career.
21:23 All the betrayals, all the hurt.
21:26 There's a wedding between Triple H and the Vince doll.
21:29 But the worst betrayals are the ones you can't see, man.
21:34 When you raised us up from nothing.
21:36 When you nurtured us, but you failed to protect us.
21:40 All the NXT call-ups who've been mistreated on the main roster.
21:44 All the NXT champions who were made to look foolish.
21:47 As Bray says, "You can create us, but that doesn't give you the right to destroy us.
21:53 You can put a suit on a monster, but that won't soak up the blood.
21:57 That won't pick up the broken pieces of the China dolls you've broken."
22:01 He defeats Triple H. The King is dead.
22:05 Seven slashes.
22:06 Three left.
22:09 At this point, Bray Wyatt is really starting to lose control of The Fiend.
22:12 We stop seeing Bray in person at all.
22:15 Only on video.
22:16 It's like he's imprisoned inside the Funhouse.
22:19 After SummerSlam, Bray talks about taking the King's crown, but that's never been the throne
22:24 that he's wanted.
22:26 That was never what The Fiend wanted.
22:27 The Fiend wanted a different crown.
22:29 A crown of darkness.
22:32 It was promised to Bray.
22:34 It was his to inherit.
22:36 And The Fiend will collect.
22:39 Months of videos making it clear that he's talking about The Undertaker.
22:42 Taker appears on Raw in advance of Survivor Series, which is branded around 30 years since
22:47 The Deadman's debut.
22:48 The lights go down and Taker is ambushed by The Fiend, who disappears again in darkness,
22:53 leaving the prone body of The Deadman in the ring, who then sits up.
22:57 You've done it now.
22:58 You've gone and made a big mistake.
23:01 Firefly Funhouse match at Survivor Series.
23:03 All about Mania 31, it's The Fiend versus The Undertaker.
23:07 And how Bray deserved to be the new face of fear, but Taker had allied himself too closely
23:13 with the Devil, and the Devil protected him one last time.
23:17 But unlike previous Funhouse matches, Taker uses his powers to fight back.
23:21 He tears down the Funhouse walls, and suddenly they're inside a boneyard.
23:26 A Firefly Boneyard match.
23:29 Demons teleporting all over the place.
23:32 Fire, lightning, shenanigans.
23:34 Eventually, the two form a stalemate.
23:38 The Fiend acknowledges Taker.
23:39 Taker gives The Fiend a nod of respect and walks off into the darkness, never to be seen
23:45 again.
23:46 The Fiend is left standing in the boneyard, all alone.
23:50 There are two left, and this builds towards Mania.
23:53 Bray is locked in the Funhouse.
23:55 There's only one way out.
23:56 Only one force powerful enough to set me free.
24:00 The Devil himself.
24:02 Sometime after the Rumble, Shane McMahon appears on Raw and is attacked by The Fiend.
24:07 A few weeks later, Stephanie McMahon appears.
24:09 She is attacked by The Fiend.
24:12 Before Mania, Vince comes down to the ring.
24:15 He will not have his family threatened.
24:17 He calls Bray Wyatt to the ring, who appears.
24:21 "You called me up, boss!
24:22 I was trapped in limbo and you were the only man who could pull me out.
24:26 Looks like I had to make an awful lot of noise for you to notice me, huh?"
24:31 WrestleMania 37.
24:32 Vince McMahon vs The Fiend.
24:35 Firefly Funhouse match.
24:37 Vince is strapped into a lie detector by the Vince puppet.
24:42 All of the puppets come back and confront Vince.
24:45 Vince rips the head off Huskus the Pig Boy.
24:49 "You disgust me," he says.
24:51 He calls Bray weak.
24:52 He challenges Bray to an arm wrestling match and wins.
24:55 "You've always been weak."
24:57 They look around.
24:58 Then suddenly Bray and Vince are standing in a wrestling ring made of brass.
25:03 Fires start to spring up around them.
25:05 Bray reveals that the last two targets are Vince and The Fiend.
25:09 "Maybe you're right, Vince.
25:10 Maybe it was me.
25:11 Maybe the darkness in me was too much for you to handle, but maybe it was you.
25:15 There's only one way to make sure it never happens again."
25:19 Bray becomes The Fiend.
25:20 The Fiend and Vince dance together and they both go up in flames.
25:26 And that is the end of The Fiend.
25:28 For now, he can come back at some point in the future.
25:32 Whenever Bray Wyatt's backed into a corner, he can be that mega death option.
25:35 But Bray Wyatt is set free by The Fiend.
25:39 He has to become a new man again.
25:42 And I'm pretty sure Bray Wyatt's capable of repackaging himself.
25:45 Because you also don't want to see too much of The Fiend.
25:48 He is a precious commodity.
25:50 He may come back one day, but for now, The Fiend had a goal.
25:54 Ten soldiers.
25:56 The total revenge.
25:58 And the plan has been completed.
26:01 Like you don't have to see Cena for a while.
26:04 Or Taker.
26:04 Or Triple H.
26:05 Or Vince.
26:06 And you feel the long-lasting effect of The Fiend.
26:10 And it's so much more powerful.
26:11 Because he's not on Raw every week fighting retribution.
26:15 You know.
26:17 And that is how I would book The Fiend.
26:18 Do you disagree?
