Missed Opportunities Burning Bears Defense
The Chicago Bears defense improved in its play against Tampa Bay but had the chance for several big plays slip through their fingers quite literally.

00:02 - I think just missed opportunities.
00:17 I mean, I think we did a better job at, you know,
00:21 putting pressure on the quarterback,
00:23 getting to the quarterback,
00:24 and just not finishing those opportunities.
00:26 And then even with turnovers, I mean,
00:28 it's still one of those things, you know,
00:30 and we gotta turn over the ball, we gotta get takeaways.
00:33 And we had opportunities and, you know,
00:35 one fumble bounced pretty far away.
00:39 They ended up getting it.
00:40 And, you know, those are just things that, you know,
00:42 we gotta, maybe the bounce doesn't go our way,
00:45 but we gotta figure out a way to get them.
00:47 And so I think those are,
00:49 and then those are a couple of things.
00:51 We had hands on him, you know,
00:52 we had him wrapped up almost a few times this week
00:57 and just gotta get him to the ground.
00:58 Can't let him kind of get out and, you know,
01:01 be able to get the ball away,
01:02 let him kind of throw it away, you know,
01:06 and get out of those kind of negative yardage plays.
01:09 And yeah, I think that came up a few times
01:11 and just something that, you know,
01:13 we keep saying it, that we gotta finish it.
01:15 And, you know, that's exactly what we gotta do.
01:17 And we gotta figure out a way to get him on the ground.
01:19 - I think it's just about technique.
01:20 I mean, we were around them a bunch, you know,
01:22 so we, you know, we had a bunch of opportunities,
01:25 you know, that I showed the D-line
01:26 and the pressure players to get there, you know,
01:29 and Baker's strong, you know, he's a strong guy.
01:31 You gotta tackle him a certain way.
01:33 You know, it's important that you do that.
01:35 You gotta get him around the waist, you know,
01:36 so we were just too high, you know,
01:38 we were too high on those moments
01:40 and we gotta improve that going forward, you know.
01:42 So every quarterback's different
01:44 how you get them on the ground.
01:46 You know, some guys you gotta tackle a little bit higher,
01:47 some guys you gotta tackle a little bit lower.
01:50 They give you a strike zone they can tackle in.
01:52 So that's what you always gotta focus on.
01:54 And, but yeah, every quarterback's different.
01:57 We gotta do a better job.
