00:02 I'm looking forward to a new challenge that's going to come with coaching at Openside again.
00:06 So really, really excited and can't wait to start.
00:10 And you've been at Warrnambool before, a bit of a homecoming of sorts.
00:13 What does it feel like to be coming back to Readoble?
00:16 Yeah, Warrnambool's the first club that I coached in Open Netball side
00:20 at, I think back in 2012.
00:21 So it's been a little while since I've been here.
00:23 But yeah, really nice to come back.
00:26 We've got some wonderful friends here and connections to the club.
00:30 And yeah, it's wonderful to be able to come back and lead the Blues next season.
00:35 So I'm really looking forward to it.
00:36 And as a coach, you spent some time at Croyton,
00:39 coached the Div 1 team this year to the grand final.
00:42 Can you tell us a bit about how you go about your coaching?
00:45 Yeah, for me, communication is probably my number one attribute.
00:49 I'm a really good communicator, and that's really important with player management.
00:54 I'm committed. My team this year would probably say that I'm a bit of a netball nutter.
00:59 I do a lot of game analysis and just want to see what other clubs are doing
01:04 and, you know, other structures and
01:07 game plans that we can maybe implement.
01:09 So the team will get commitment from me.
01:11 And yeah, I just genuinely love working with players of all ages.
01:16 And that's what's happened this year at Croydon.
01:17 I've had some really good juniors that I've worked with and also players
01:20 that have been around for a very long time.
01:22 So the opportunity for me to impart some knowledge on different age groups
01:25 is something I'm really excited about.
01:27 And I think that we've got a wonderful mix of youth and experience at the Blues.
01:31 So looking forward to tapping into that.
01:33 And the team this year made finals.
01:35 How well do you think you can go next year?
01:37 Yeah, I think the team did really well this year,
01:40 and there's definitely some really good opportunities within the team.
01:43 And seeing a couple of their games this year, you know, I've already identified
01:46 a couple of areas of the game that we could look to tighten up or change things slightly.
01:51 We would hope that we will exceed that next year.
01:53 But making finals is first and foremost what we want to aim for
01:57 and hope that we can go one better than they did this year.
01:59 But they've got a great group of girls and a really good core group of girls.
02:03 And we probably don't need to change too much,
02:05 but I want to tighten up a couple of things.
02:08 And maybe we need to add a couple of extra new players in just to provide
02:12 a little bit more of a competitive edge amongst our Div 1 and Open girls.
02:16 So really looking forward to seeing the team that we produce for next season.
