00:15 Some of these scenes might have been put back in for director's cuts or TV airings, but
00:18 theatrical audiences missed out.
00:25 Number 10. Henchmen Are People Too - Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery
00:30 When a henchman bites the dust, we usually don't give it a second thought. If you think
00:33 about it, though, that henchman probably had a life outside of serving evil. Just look
00:37 at Steve, the henchman that Austin Powers flattens with a steamroller. In a deleted
00:51 scene, we would have learned that Steve left behind a loving wife and stepson. He's not
00:58 the only one. John Smith, the henchman who had his head bitten off by a mutated sea bass,
01:05 was about to be married. Huh. You know, Smith's friend is a dead ringer for a young number
01:12 too. It also looks like Steve was reincarnated as the NATO soldier watching Jerry Springer
01:16 and the Queen's Royal Guard. In any case, we want justice for Steve.
01:20 Number 9. Barnard's Grandson - Dumb and Dumber
01:23 Joe Baker almost had a slightly bigger role as Barnard, who oversees the Aspen Hotel where
01:28 Harry and Lloyd stay. In one deleted scene, the guys would have given Barney a generous,
01:32 but not too generous tip. This sort of bonding moment would have paid off with Barney taking
01:41 pity on the guys when they lose their nest egg. He offers to let them stay if they're
01:44 willing to help out around the hotel. Barnard suggests that they look after his visiting
01:48 grandson. Unfortunately, this turns out to be Billy in 4C, who Lloyd duped into buying
01:53 a dead parakeet. We already got two hilarious scenes involving Billy, and for those who
02:05 abide by the rules of three, this reveal would have been a welcome addition.
02:27 Number 8. Amazing Larry Origins - Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
02:31 The late Luke Cattell gave one of his most memorable performances as Amazing Larry, despite
02:35 only appearing on screen for a few seconds and not even getting a line. In another movie,
02:42 his presence might have seemed strange. In a film where everything is eccentric, Larry's
02:46 random appearance feels oddly natural. A deleted scene would have provided some context as
02:55 Pee-Wee meets Larry for the first time at Mario's Magic Shop. In addition to performing
02:58 a hair-raising trick, we're given insight into why Larry has a Technicolor mohawk later.
03:05 On one hand, Larry's brief scene in the finished movie would have lost some of its
03:09 surrealness had this moment been included. As fans of this cult character, though, we
03:22 fully endorse releasing the Amazing Larry cut.
03:25 Number 7. An Orderly Comeuppance - Happy Gilmore
03:28 Ben Stiller really needs to play more villains. We love to hate him in Happy Gilmore, where
03:32 he played Hal L., the nursing home orderly who mistreats the elderly residents. The theatrical
03:36 cut never resolves this storyline. In a deleted scene that was restored for the TV version,
03:41 Hal finally gets a taste of his own medicine. With Grandma Gilmore no longer staying at
03:51 the home, she doesn't hesitate to tell Happy everything. Considering that Happy has lost
03:55 his temper over much smaller offenses, it shouldn't come as a surprise that he chucks
03:58 Hal off the balcony with the residents now liberated. Hal apparently didn't learn his
04:05 lesson as he went on to torment more people in Hubie Halloween. He hasn't changed his
04:09 mustache either.
04:15 Number 6. Song of Frankenstein - Young Frankenstein
04:19 Initially, it would have taken Dr. Frederick Frankenstein much longer to reach Transylvania.
04:23 Well not without its moments. We understand why Mel Brooks cut a seven-minute sequence
04:27 where Victor Frankenstein's will is read. However, we wish he had kept a subsequent
04:36 scene where the estate's lawyer, played by Richard Hayden, convinces Frederick to
04:40 visit his newly inherited property. During the conversation, Frederick is sidetracked
04:44 by a man on the street playing a violin tune, which would have foreshadowed a later scene.
04:59 Frederick proceeds to calmly destroy the violin, resuming the conversation as if nothing just
05:07 happened. The lawyer can tell that Frederick is indeed a Frankenstein, even if he doesn't
05:11 realize it yet. It's an understatement moment of madness that few could pull off like Gene
05:15 Wilder.
05:16 Number 5. Blindsided Date - Bridesmaids
05:19 Paul Rudd has played lovable goofballs and complete jerkwads. He would have shown off
05:23 both sides in Bridesmaids had director Paul Feig not made the difficult decision to cut
05:27 the sequence. Kristen Wiig's Annie goes on a blind date with Rudd's character, who
05:31 seems well-rounded and supportive. That is until a kid accidentally runs over his finger
05:38 while ice skating. Although only a minor injury, Rudd refuses to let it go. Having a beef with
05:48 the kid is one thing, but when he throws a hissy fit at Annie, Jon Hamm's Ted suddenly
05:52 feels a lot more tolerable. That said, Feig removed the scene because Annie already had
05:56 two gentlemen callers. Regardless, seeing this crybaby get pummeled by the kid's father
06:00 would have been so satisfying.
06:06 Number 4. Bank Robbery - Anchorman - The Legend of Ron Burgundy
06:10 For nearly a decade, people asked when Anchorman would get a sequel. Little did they know that
06:14 a follow-up already existed. Kind of. The directed video Wake Up Ron Burgundy was assembled
06:19 using outtakes and scrapped subplots. While hit and miss, a few scenes match the theatrical
06:24 film's brilliance. A highlight finds a terrorist group called the Alarm Clock robbing a bank
06:27 in point-break fashion. Amy Poehler's teller isn't phased by the gun pointed at her,
06:36 focusing on the group's masks and what they symbolize. The teller is so frustrated by
06:40 their statement, or lack thereof, that she refuses to give them all the money, but she
06:43 delivers plenty of priceless insults. Apparently, Poehler's character left banking to become
06:51 an entertainment news anchor in the real sequel.
06:56 Number 3. Extended Motel Stay - Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
07:00 Like many other John Hughes movies, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles had a plethora of
07:04 deleted material. In 2022, Paramount finally released 75 minutes of unseen footage, including
07:09 several humorous bits at the Brainwood Inn. As Neil uncomfortably showers, Del obviously
07:19 makes himself at home in the bathroom. This leads to a cleverly edited exchange between
07:23 Del and the pizza delivery guy, the same person who robs them in the theatrical film. In the
07:27 version we know and love, we assume that he's just a random crook. This deleted scene would
07:32 provide a context, since Del doesn't give the biggest tip. Neil can barely bring himself
07:41 to take a bite of the gross pizza, but Del helps himself, having to fart something fierce
07:45 later that night.
07:49 Number 2. Brokeback Mountain Uncut - Knocked Up
07:52 Not many Brokeback Mountain jokes have aged well. This deleted "knocked up" scene
07:56 is an exception, as it doesn't go for the obvious punchline. Speaking with Katherine
08:00 Heigl's Alison, Jonah Hill's character has a hot take on the Oscar-winning romance.
08:04 For a film about two gay men, there seems to be a lot more female nudity than male.
08:14 What ensues is an uproarious rant about the unfiltered version that Ang Lee never made.
08:23 Behind the crude language, it's also a surprisingly sweet bonding moment between
08:26 Alison and Jonah, showing that Ben's friends have come to accept her as part of their lives.
08:34 It's a shame that this wasn't included, as we would have loved to have watched it
08:37 in the same theater as Jake Gyllenhaal.

09:52 Number 1 - Killers of the Flower Gloria - Mrs. Doubtfire
09:56 This comedy had more than a half hour of deleted footage, including a hysterical subplot involving
10:01 Robin Williams' Peter and neighbor Gloria, played by Polly Holliday.
10:10 Possessing a small role in the finished film, Gloria was going to be Peter's rival, criticizing
10:14 him as a husband and father.
10:22 Under the innocent guise of Mrs. Doubtfire, Peter gives Gloria a gardening tip - sprinkle
10:26 the flowers with a touch of dog urine.
10:28 It's no different than horse manure, right?
10:30 Yes, it is, but by the time Gloria realizes the truth, her flowers are dead.
10:35 Gloria is even more horrified to learn who Mrs. Doubtfire really is.
10:46 We get that the movie was already two hours, but this abandoned storyline demonstrates
10:50 why revenge is a dish best served warm.
