00:02 - Think about last year in terms of that matchup.
00:05 Sean Clifford was under center,
00:06 the human turnover machine,
00:08 in regards to how he imploded
00:10 in the fourth quarter of that ballgame,
00:12 because Penn State was able to rush the football.
00:14 They had a fourth quarter lead, Mike,
00:16 against that front seven.
00:18 They were dominating Katron Allen, Nick Singleton,
00:21 rushed for 126 yards, four and a half yards per carry,
00:24 and the turnovers created by Sean Clifford
00:27 completely put that team at a disadvantage.
00:29 They were down before you looked,
00:31 like down by 19 points, Kev.
00:33 So it is a different team with Drew Aller at the helm.
00:36 Here's the problem that I have,
00:38 and two dominant defenses, Manny Diaz,
00:41 I mean, in that front seven,
00:42 holding opposing offenses, 2.4 yards per carry,
00:45 26% in terms of third down defense,
00:48 only giving up 126 passing yards in terms of the back end.
00:52 But I look at Jim Knowles.
00:54 I look at this Ohio State defense,
00:55 and I look to two games in particular,
00:58 the game against Notre Dame,
00:59 the game against Maryland, where they struggled.
01:01 The second half adjustments,
01:03 the ability to be in a tight ball game
01:05 when the game is on the line, and to adjust.
01:07 We have not seen that yet from Penn State
01:10 because they've been dominating the competition
01:13 up until this point.
01:15 How do they respond?
01:17 That's why I favor, if I had to bet this game early on,
01:20 and Emiko Bucher's back, I would probably take Ohio State.
01:24 But that being said, I am sitting on a preseason
01:26 Penn State ticket at five to one to win the Big Ten.
01:29 - But this is one of the thing, right, Mike?
01:31 And so, this is where betting, again, is so important
01:36 to trying to break down and understand these games.
01:38 Penn State allow eight points per game.
01:40 No one can score on this team.
01:42 Well, they played six games.
01:44 Three of their opponent team totals have cashed over.
01:46 It's relative.
01:47 Yes, they shut out UMass.
01:50 They shut out Iowa.
01:52 Two of the worst offenses in all of college football.
01:54 - I agree. - But you know what?
01:55 West Virginia went over their team total.
01:57 Northwestern went over their team total.
01:59 And Delaware with a seven.
02:01 Look, believe it or not,
02:01 but Delaware went over their team total.
02:03 - I know. - No, but they did, right?
02:04 - It was three and a half.
02:05 - But they went over the number, right?
02:06 Ohio State this year has had a lot
02:08 of low opponent team totals.
02:09 They've only allowed one.
02:11 It was Youngstown.
02:11 And it was, again, it was a seven,
02:13 but it was over the number.
02:15 The point is, for me, with Penn State,
02:18 what we have, their body of work, is so garbage.
02:22 And there's no other way to describe it.
02:23 I mean, it is awful.
02:24 When the best thing on your resume
02:26 is the worst offense in college football,
02:28 make no mistake about it,
02:29 that's what the Iowa Hawkeyes are.
02:30 The worst offense in college football blew it.
02:33 I have too many questions about Penn State
02:35 to trust them in this spot.
