00:00 Every festive season we are on a hunt for sweet recipes.
00:03 And today I have a delicious treat that you can make during the fasting season.
00:08 So let's see the recipe for Singara Coconut Halwa.
00:11 The first step is to dry roast some desiccated Coconut.
00:15 I have here 1/2 a cup of that.
00:17 And now let's add it in a pan.
00:19 Dry roast for 2 minutes on medium or slow flame.
00:24 Make sure that you don't let the colour change.
00:28 This is nicely roasted.
00:29 And now make sure you remove it from a hot pan.
00:33 And let it cool down completely.
00:35 To make this Halwa we need 1 cup of Singara Atta or Water Chestnut flour.
00:40 Turn on the flame.
00:42 So I have here 1 cup of the flour and make sure you sift it.
00:46 And now in a pan, let's add in Ghee.
00:50 Don't use very thick Ghee.
00:52 1 cup of Singara Atta or Water Chestnut flour.
00:56 And make sure you mix the Ghee and the flour properly.
00:59 The trick about making a well cooked Halwa is always in roasting the flour in the Ghee.
01:15 So make sure you keep stirring it patiently.
01:18 And cook it for at least a good 8 minutes.
01:21 As you can see the colour and the consistency has changed.
01:26 The flour is nicely roasted.
01:28 And now I am going to add in 2 cups of hot water.
01:32 Make sure the water is nice and hot.
01:35 Be very careful while adding the hot water because it splashes and splutters everywhere.
01:43 Stir vigorously to break all the lumps.
01:47 As you can see it's become nice and fluffy.
01:50 And now into this I am going to add in 1 cup of Sugar.
01:56 Also the roasted desiccated Coconut.
01:59 Give this a good mix.
02:00 And now we need to cook this Halwa till the Ghee separates.
02:09 I am going to cover this and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes on very low heat.
02:18 Add in 1/2 a tsp of Cardamom Powder.
02:25 And mix it well.
02:26 And this Halwa is ready.
02:30 Let's serve this in a Dron.
02:33 Garnish with some Pistachio Flakes.
02:46 And some Almond Flakes.
02:47 You can make this as a Prasad for your Poojas during this festive season.
02:54 Do give this recipe a try and let me know how it turned out.
02:57 I'll see you soon, bye-bye.
