00:00 Whenever we talk about technology, China comes first.
00:03 But now China can get a big shock.
00:06 First of all, China's economy is already in a bad state.
00:08 And on top of that, China's global progress can give a big shock.
00:13 Actually, India has got a new and big success.
00:16 Now, in India, iPhone manufacturing will start.
00:19 Made in India iPhones are going to be made in India.
00:22 Let's tell you some more details about it.
00:25 Tata Group will soon start manufacturing iPhones.
00:28 The special thing is that the company will start manufacturing iPhones for both the local and global markets.
00:33 The information was given by Rajiv Chandrasekhar, the Minister of Electronics and Technology.
00:37 The Central Minister said that Tata will be able to manufacture iPhones in India.
00:42 And this has happened in just two and a half years.
00:44 Rajiv Chandrasekhar has posted about this on social media.
00:48 Where earlier most of the phones sold worldwide were manufactured in China.
00:53 Now, in India, iPhone manufacturing is slowly starting.
00:56 Although, some time ago, old iPhone models were assembled in India.
01:02 The company has now started manufacturing its latest models in India.
01:06 This time, the iPhone 15 launched has also been manufactured in India.
01:10 And it is also being sold in the market from the first day.
01:12 Tata has acquired Taiwan's company Vistron Corp. for manufacturing iPhones in India.
01:18 Vistron Corp. is an Apple supplier.
01:20 Under the acquisition, SMS Infocom Pvt. Ltd. and Vistron Hong Kong Ltd. have been granted the consent to sign a share purchase agreement with Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd.
01:31 Both the companies will get 100% shares of Vistron Infocom in India.
01:38 This deal has been made in 125 million dollars, that is, around 1000 crores.
01:42 Under this deal, Vistron Corp. will acquire the Karnataka factory.
01:47 A conversation was going on between Tata Group and Vistron for the last year.
01:53 Taiwan's company Vistron entered the Indian market in 2008.
01:57 At that time, the company provided repair facilities for many devices.
02:01 After that, in 2017, the company expanded its operations and started the production of iPhones for Apple.
02:08 More than 10,000 workers work in this plant of Vistron.
02:12 But now, under these conditions of Apple, Vistron is facing challenges in making a profit.
02:17 And for this reason, Vistron decided to sell its iPhone assembly factory in India.
02:22 The company was struggling a lot to make a profit as an iPhone assembly provider in India.
02:29 Currently, Vistron's Indian plant is manufacturing iPhones in its 8 production lines.
02:34 After Tata's acquisition, Vistron will be completely out of the Indian market.
02:39 Because it is the only plant of the company that produces Apple products in India.
02:44 Last year, a California-based company, Apple, announced a plan to shift its global production to India by 25% due to a dispute between China and the United States.
02:55 Only Vistron is leaving India from the three Taiwanese firms that assemble Apple products.
03:01 While Foxconn and Pegatron have increased their production lines in India.
03:05 Now let's know why is the iPhone manufacturing special with Tata.
03:09 In India, Foxconn and Vistron only manufacture iPhones.
03:14 In India, iPhone manufacturing is done, but no local company does it.
03:19 And this is the first time when an Indian company will be in charge of iPhone manufacturing.
03:25 And we all know how big Tata Group is.
03:27 However, Apple still does not assemble all models in India.
03:31 The company started manufacturing the latest iPhone, i.e. iPhone 15 in India.
03:36 But the iPhone 15 Pro series is still manufactured in China.
03:40 The company keeps it exclusive in China.
03:43 In India, 7% of Apple products are manufactured.
03:47 China is still the largest supplier of Apple.
03:50 But now as the situation is changing and manufacturing is increasing in India, the concern of China can definitely increase here.
