00:00 My name is Alessandra Chirwoka. I live in Bolton with my husband and our two daughters
00:05 and I'm 28. During my first pregnancy I had all the vaccines I needed to have as advised
00:13 by the GP. So I had the whooping cough vaccination at the GP, the GP nurse gave me that and I
00:20 had a flu vaccine as well, as well as the Covid vaccine. But with this pregnancy I had
00:25 the Covid itself. I was very worried, particularly because I've got healthcare experience as
00:30 well, I knew what could go wrong and I had just come from my first trimester being really
00:36 poorly, so I was very worried that we could lose the baby. I also saw how vulnerable pregnant
00:43 women were during the Covid period. It was not questionable for me, I was definitely
00:48 going to have the vaccine to give us a fighting chance. Once I had the vaccination I felt
00:54 like I'd made a good decision that could protect myself and I made the best decision I could
01:00 for my family at the time. So my advice to anybody who's hesitant to have their vaccine
01:06 during pregnancy would be to speak to the health advisor, get as much information as
01:10 they can about it. But from my experience of having vaccinations such as the Covid,
01:16 the whooping cough, the flu vaccine during pregnancy is that it is safe to have.
