00:00 Laura Madden is a part of this year's Camelback Studio Tour and we're talking with her now
00:09 to get a look at what this year's event has to offer.
00:12 Hi Laura, how you doing?
00:16 Hi Lexi, how are you?
00:18 I'm great.
00:19 So first of all I have to say I'm so excited for this tour because I am a major fan of
00:24 yours.
00:25 I have one of your pieces in my house.
00:29 I love it, I know and I love that piece too.
00:32 It's beautiful, it's so great, so girly, so feminine.
00:34 But tell everybody a little bit about the Camelback Studio Tour first of all.
00:40 Yes, so we're super excited Friday or Saturday and Sunday, 10 to 5 Saturday, 10 to 4 Sunday
00:49 is the Camelback Studio Tour.
00:51 This is year 15 for this amazing art tour, the finest in local artists and it's essentially
00:57 a studio tour so you can meet the artists and you can see where they work, where they
01:01 play and we have 40 artists participating this year and there's 13 artist studios.
01:08 So we have a huge amount of artists and this is Studio 2.
01:13 So it's going to be myself exhibiting my work as well as my friend artist Sin Silva.
01:18 So Studio 2 is going to be an amazing place and you're going to see just a little behind
01:24 the scenes of what we have going on here.
01:27 And I know in my notes it says Studio 2 is going to be the party place.
01:31 You guys are going to be doing giveaways, you're going to have food, all kinds of great
01:34 stuff right?
01:36 Yes, we are going to have music, we'll have bubbles, we'll have other beverage sampling,
01:43 we'll have wine, light bites but most importantly we have amazing art and we have a whole range
01:49 of art, Sin Silva and I are both abstract modern painters so you're going to see a lot
01:55 of very cool, very chic stuff and I like to think of this as almost like fashion for your
02:00 walls.
02:01 It really is meant to add that fashionable edge to your home that just really can make
02:06 you feel good all the time and that's what I love so much about art.
02:11 It's you know, it's so personal but it's transformational so I hope people will see something here that
02:18 they resonate with, that they connect with.
02:21 It's just really fun, really fun stuff and as you'll see we have a really broad range,
02:26 a really diverse range of styles here today.
02:30 Transformational is a great way to put it because when you have that great piece of
02:34 art in your home it can truly transform a space and I know that's what your work has
02:39 done for me Laura.
02:40 So I know this is also a great time for holiday gifting, this is a great place to come to
02:45 maybe get something special for someone on your list.
02:48 Absolutely, absolutely.
02:51 So as you can see we have some large scale art, we have more medium sized art but then
02:56 we have some of these much smaller pieces as well that are amazing for gifts.
03:01 They're easy to transport, easy to ship.
03:04 Some of these other smaller pieces are great for even like a desk or a shelf just to add
03:09 that you know little stylish touch and especially if you have an art or style lover on your
03:15 gift list this year I think these are really, really fun.
03:19 So you know these are just 8x8s, we have 12x12s and then we have you know 8x10s.
03:25 We have a really great range of sizes that you know it just makes a great gift and of
03:31 course if you have someone you really love then you can go for something much larger,
03:35 of course you know a greater investment but really, really fun, stylish and chic things
03:42 for your walls.
03:43 Yes, you have everything from a smaller investment to a much larger investment but like you said
03:49 great for a gift because there's nothing better than something so unique like this.
03:53 No one else will get them this, they won't already have it, it is a perfect holiday gift.
