00:00 According to former Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, both he and DAP were only using each
00:08 other to accomplish their mutual goal of ousting Najib Raza and his administration in the 2018

00:15 Speaking on the latest episode of the Keluas Kejap podcast, Mahathir affirmed that the
00:20 alliance with DAP was motivated by the shared goal of securing a two-thirds majority for
00:25 Pakatan Harapan during GE14.
00:28 Mahathir was responding to former UMNO Information Chief Shahril Hamdan, who questioned his apparent
00:33 inconsistency in dealing with DAP and PAS.
00:37 The former Langkawi MP was previously a staunch critic of both parties during his time with
00:42 UMNO.
00:43 When asked to explain his shifting stance, Mahathir, who is presently serving as the
00:48 informal advisor of four PAS-led state governments and had attended the Islamic Party's recent
00:53 Muqtama, underscored the significance of having a strategy to achieve goals and the need to
00:58 adapt to diverse situations.
