00:00 We'll be right back.
00:03 What is up Dallas Cowboys fans
00:09 Indycar Tim here with your
00:10 Dallas Cowboys Daily Blitz for
00:12 today, Tuesday, November 14th
00:15 as the Cowboys get ready for
00:18 Carolina on Sunday at noon
00:22 Central time. Uh of course,
00:23 everyone's still talking about
00:25 celebrating uh lamenting
00:29 the Cowboys humongous blowout
00:32 forty-nine to seventeen win
00:33 over the uh division rival
00:35 Giants on Sunday and I know
00:38 that that's much different than
00:39 what anybody thought was going
00:40 to happen but either way the
00:44 Cowboys still had to go out and
00:45 execute the Cowboys had to make
00:47 the plays. Uh I think the most
00:49 impressive thing is you know,
00:51 it's it's hard to judge a game
00:52 like that right when the
00:54 Giants are clearly down several
00:56 guys injuries just killing that
00:58 game. You're down to your
01:00 third-string quarterback. Uh
01:02 you lost your two best pass
01:04 rushers that were already that
01:07 were from an already depleted
01:09 defensive line. You lost more
01:11 guys in the course of the game.
01:13 So, you know, other than trying
01:16 to grade things for what they
01:17 were, you know, maybe
01:19 separately with each position
01:21 group or whatever. It's really
01:22 hard to to to judge like, well,
01:25 does this mean the Cowboys are
01:26 just that good? Well, of course
01:27 they're not. Do you think the
01:28 Giants are that bad? Of course
01:29 not. So, really, it was fun to
01:31 see the Cowboys get some guys
01:32 involved in the game on Sunday
01:35 and uh you know, you got all
01:37 your playmakers involved and
01:39 that was really the key to to
01:41 what was going on there. Just
01:42 show some consistency. Show
01:44 some consistency with the play
01:45 calling. Uh show some
01:47 consistency with with your
01:49 defense which I think you saw
01:50 all of those things which are
01:52 encouraging. We just hope that
01:54 those trends can continue
01:56 and you'll have some better
01:57 teams that you're going to come
01:58 up against. So, I thought I'd
01:59 go over with uh the four major
02:02 if you want to call them that
02:03 media outlets to come up with
02:04 NFL power rankings released all
02:06 their power rankings recently
02:07 here and all four have the
02:09 Cowboys in the top ten. Now, I
02:11 don't know which of course they
02:12 should be. I don't know where
02:13 you have the Cowboys on your
02:14 personal power rankings. Uh if
02:17 you know, nobody cares what I
02:18 think but if I was going to
02:19 have mine uh and publish them,
02:21 put them out there which I
02:22 don't know. Maybe I should do
02:23 that every week. Um I would
02:24 probably put the Cowboys
02:26 somewhere around five, six,
02:29 seven, something like that. Um
02:32 but what you don't want to see
02:33 is you don't want to see teams
02:35 in power and again, power
02:37 rankings are meaningless.
02:38 They're just conversation
02:39 points. Really, we all know
02:40 that. You don't want to see
02:41 teams like fluctuate too much,
02:43 right? Like over when you get a
02:44 big win, you don't want to see
02:45 the Cowboys jump up five spots
02:48 because again, that doesn't
02:49 mean they're that much better of
02:51 a team than they were when you
02:52 may have lost by three or four
02:53 points in the sport. So, most
02:56 of these outlets have been
02:57 pretty consistent with where
02:58 they are but those four big
03:00 ones of course are uh ESPN,
03:03 NFL.com, CBS Sports, and Fox
03:06 Sports. So, I just thought we'd
03:07 go over real quick here where
03:08 each team has them and they've
03:10 all like I said, I'll got them
03:11 in the top ten. Um both CBS and
03:18 Fox. I think uh no ESPN and
03:24 NFL had them both ranked at
03:26 number seven. Um so that's
03:29 kind of where I think I had
03:32 them. Um you know, ESPN sees
03:36 the Eagles as the biggest road
03:37 block for the Cowboys which you
03:39 know, they're probably right. I
03:40 kind of feel like we're that's
03:41 a little hanging fruit here to
03:42 to discuss. Um we know the
03:45 Cowboys have owned the Eagles
03:46 at home winning the last five
03:47 against Philadelphia and you're
03:48 going to need another instance
03:50 of that uh as the season goes
03:53 on. You're now two games behind
03:54 the Eagles. Eagles, the only
03:56 one lost team left in the uh in
03:58 the in the league. Cowboys right
04:00 there at six and three. Kind of
04:03 the middle of the pack. I think
04:04 not a bad team but not one of
04:06 your elite teams. I don't
04:07 really know that there are
04:08 elite teams in the NFL right
04:09 now. It certainly doesn't look
04:10 like it and that's okay. You
04:12 know what? That's what we want.
04:13 Parody, right? That's what the
04:14 league wants. Uh and even at at
04:17 eight and one, uh the Eagles
04:21 seem a little vulnerable,
04:23 right? We've we've seen some
04:24 hiccups in their game. They've
04:26 got injuries they're dealing
04:27 with too. Um but the highest
04:30 ranking the Cowboys got was
04:33 from um CBS Sports. CBS Sports
04:38 was pretty brief with their
04:40 description here uh saying
04:42 quote, they took out their
04:43 loss. They took out their loss
04:44 to the Eagles 2 weeks ago on
04:46 the Giants. The Cowboys look
04:48 dominant in that game but it
04:50 was the Giants. End quote. So,
04:52 that's kind of the way I think
04:53 everybody feels but I think
04:54 four is a little high. Maybe you
04:57 disagree. Um and then as we
05:00 mentioned, ESPN and NFL.com
05:02 have Dallas at uh number seven
05:05 and um you know, Fox had them
05:08 at number eight. Fox Sports had
05:11 them at number eight. So,
05:14 that's probably right around in
05:15 the area, right? That that
05:17 you'd want that you that you
05:18 probably think if you're
05:19 realistic, of course, the
05:21 Cowboys home is going to be
05:22 number one. Well, they're not
05:24 better than the Eagles right
05:25 now. We know that. Uh they're
05:27 probably not better than the
05:28 Ravens and again, these are
05:30 NFL not just NFC rankings.
05:32 Probably not better than the
05:34 Ravens. Probably not better
05:36 than the Chiefs. Um you know
05:40 and you can just kind of go
05:41 around the league and figure
05:42 out who you think is better
05:43 than the Cowboys and whatever
05:45 number that is but the Cowboys
05:47 right there and that's where
05:48 you think that they would rank
05:49 in the power ranking. So, uh
05:51 just some fun stuff to talk
05:52 about if you've got friends
05:53 that are Giants fans and you
05:55 shouldn't because they're
05:56 Giants fan. I'm just kidding.
05:57 Be friends with whoever you
05:58 want. Um but yeah, I mean,
06:00 from a realistic standpoint,
06:01 that's probably where Dallas
06:03 sits. Looking at the remaining
06:04 schedule for the Cowboys, of
06:05 course, Carolina this week. Uh
06:08 Sunday at noon on Fox. Then
06:11 you've got uh that's at
06:12 Carolina by the way. Then
06:13 you've got the commanders at
06:15 AT&T Stadium should be a win
06:17 but we know the commanders
06:18 play the Cowboys tough every
06:20 time. Doesn't matter who's
06:21 playing quarterback. Uh then
06:23 you've got the Seahawks uh
06:25 potential playoff team. Uh
06:28 partially led. Well, they led
06:30 part of the season that the the
06:31 NFC West out there while San
06:33 Francisco was sort of flopping
06:35 around not knowing what they
06:36 were going to do. Uh then the
06:38 Eagles uh December 10th at
06:41 AT&T Stadium. That'll be a
06:42 Sunday night game on NBC and
06:45 then the suddenly vulnerable
06:47 Bills team at Buffalo on
06:49 December 17th. You know, after
06:52 last night, I don't know what
06:53 to think of the bills. They by
06:54 the way, if you haven't heard,
06:55 they fired their offensive
06:56 coordinator, Ken Dorsey today.
06:57 Um and their offensive
06:59 coordinator or uh passing game
07:01 coordinator will be a
07:02 quarterback's coach will be
07:03 taking over there. So, that's
07:05 a big disarray, right? I mean,
07:07 that's you know, a month away
07:09 but who knows what they'll be
07:11 at that point. It's still
07:12 Buffalo and it's still
07:13 December. So, you never know
07:14 what you're going to get. Then
07:15 uh you're at Miami the week
07:17 following. Uh who knows where
07:19 they will be at that point?
07:20 They look pretty pretty good.
07:22 Then Detroit at AT&T Stadium on
07:26 uh December 30th and then of
07:27 course to finish the season on
07:28 January 7th, you've got at
07:30 Washington at FedEx Field. So,
07:33 some opportunities for the
07:34 Cowboys but you know, you gotta
07:36 beat Philadelphia if you want
07:37 to have any hopes of catching
07:39 them for the East title um and
07:42 then you're going to need them
07:43 to falter a little bit of
07:44 course and I haven't looked at
07:45 their schedule necessarily. I'm
07:46 sure they've got some uh
07:48 losable games there throughout
07:49 but but we'll see where they go.
07:51 Cowboys uh rankings from the
07:54 national media 4778
07:58 respectively from from those
08:00 uh media outlets. So, where do
08:01 you think they stand? Find me
