00:03 - Let's bring in our man, Rich Terminale,
00:05 the Maxwell Minute, the recap from this past weekend.
00:08 Let's roll.
00:09 (upbeat music)
00:11 - Hey Mike, time to wrap up week 11 in college football.
00:16 Some great performances from the Maxwell perspective.
00:21 Good timing for us.
00:22 We're releasing our semifinalists this week
00:24 for both the Maxwell Award and the Bednarik Award.
00:27 So I'll start with the Maxwell Award player of the week.
00:31 It could be no one other than Jaden Daniels of LSU.
00:34 This time last week, Mike, he's in Concussion Protocol.
00:38 And then by Saturday night, he's in the NCAA Record Books.
00:41 In the thousands and thousands of games in college football,
00:45 no quarterback has ever done what Jaden Daniels did.
00:49 More than 350 yards through the air,
00:52 more than 200 yards on the ground.
00:54 In total, he accounts for 606 yards against Florida
00:59 in an easy victory over the Gators.
01:02 Five touchdowns, just an epic performance.
01:05 This kid is getting better and better,
01:07 and I would be shocked at this point
01:09 if he's not one of our Maxwell Award finalists
01:12 in a couple of weeks.
01:13 We'll keep it in the SEC.
01:15 In fact, all three of our players this week
01:17 are from the SEC.
01:18 So SEC haters can write me if they'd like.
01:22 Jalen McCloud, the Jack linebacker from Auburn
01:25 and edge rusher.
01:26 He's a transfer from Appalachian State.
01:29 Interesting thing is we watched him closely
01:31 at the beginning of last year
01:33 when App State played Texas A&M,
01:35 and he ripped through that Aggie offensive line.
01:38 So he was SEC ready a year ago,
01:40 and clearly is now.
01:42 48-10 victory for Auburn.
01:44 McCloud has nine tackles, four tackles for loss,
01:48 three sacks, a forced fumble,
01:50 and according to our friends at Pro Football Focus,
01:54 no edge rusher earned a higher grade
01:56 in week 11 than McCloud.
01:58 And by the way, Mike, keep an eye on Auburn.
02:01 Little by little, you know,
02:02 this team is getting better under Eufrys,
02:05 now six and four.
02:07 They're finding an identity on defense.
02:10 They're capable on offense.
02:12 Got an easy one this weekend,
02:14 and then it's the Iron Bowl against Alabama
02:17 with a chance to ruin the Tides' quest
02:20 to get into the playoff.
02:21 And finally, again, number three, SEC.
02:23 It's just the way things worked out.
02:25 Georgia linebacker C.J. Allen.
02:28 Think about this.
02:29 Georgia goes into their biggest game of the season
02:31 last weekend with Ole Miss visiting
02:33 that good offensive lane, Kiffin.
02:36 Allen gets asked to start for the first time
02:39 in replace of J'mon "Doomish" Johnson,
02:42 captain of the Georgia defense,
02:43 out with a left arm injury.
02:45 You would think that Allen would be wide-eyed
02:48 and incapable, didn't happen.
02:50 Leads the team with nine tackles and a sack.
02:53 Number 33 is the next in a long line
02:57 of great Georgia linebackers.
