PEA Kelly, 18, from the UK, is the definition of 'Mall Goth'. She loves her unique twist on the classic Mall Goth style which she has embodied and developed since she was 13 years old. Pea told truly: "If I could sum up my look in a few words it would be: spooky, dark and extreme. Anything that kind of shocks people!" Despite Pea loving her unique look, not everyone has positive reactions. Pea said: "I get a lot of judgment in public, from people taking photos to shouting at me." Today, with the help of makeup artist Chloe, Pea will be transformed into a 'Girly Princess'. Pea chose this transformation because as a child she used to dress in all pink, something that mum, Lucie, remembers vividly. How will Pea's mum react to this dramatic transformation? Will she long for the 'Girly Princess' to return? Or will Lucie miss Pea's original Mall Goth aesthetic?

00:00 If I could sum up my look in a few words,
00:02 it would be spooky, dark, and extreme.
00:05 Anything that kind of shocks people.
00:07 I get a lot of judgment in public
00:10 from people taking photos
00:12 to kind of shouting things at me.
00:15 Today I'm being transformed from a Morgoth
00:18 to a girly princess.
00:19 I am nervous to see the kind of reaction
00:22 that I have myself,
00:23 because it's gonna be so different.
00:25 Hey, are you ready to see?
00:26 - Yeah.
00:27 - Here we go.
00:28 - Oh my God.
00:29 I am revealing the look to my mom today.
00:31 (laughing)
00:36 That's made me feel quite emotional.
00:39 I was attracted to the Morgoth aesthetic
00:46 because of like the color schemes,
00:48 the red and black,
00:49 the dramatic kind of makeup,
00:54 the style,
00:55 pretty much everything about it really.
00:58 I think what makes my look different
01:01 is how I kind of mix the aesthetics,
01:03 mainly with the kinds of traditional and Morgoth thing,
01:07 but how I like getting different subcultures
01:10 and mixing them together
01:11 to create my own personal style.
01:13 I started getting into the style when I was 13.
01:17 Very dark, very spooky,
01:20 very over the top,
01:21 anything that kind of shocks people.
01:23 The parts that make my look Morgoth
01:26 are the red and the black,
01:27 the accessories, the makeup and the fashion.
01:30 If I could sum up my look in a few words,
01:33 it would be spooky, dark and extreme.
01:36 I get a lot of judgment in public
01:40 from people like taking photos
01:43 to kind of shouting things at me,
01:47 which isn't very nice.
01:48 I get a lot of judgment for my style in public.
01:51 Recently I went out
01:53 and I had people that started taking like photos
01:55 and videos of me getting up all in my face.
01:58 Ended up like going into a shop
02:00 to kind of take cover from them.
02:02 But that was pretty scary,
02:05 but it's something that I'm beginning
02:06 to kind of get used to as my style develops.
02:09 - Do you ever feel self-conscious
02:10 when you go out in your Morgoth look?
02:12 - It's kind of like dressing up
02:14 as a character or something.
02:17 It gives me this confidence that I don't have
02:19 when I'm in my normal look.
02:21 And it just kind of makes me feel like
02:23 I'm able to kind of be whoever
02:25 I want to be.
02:26 Today I'm being transformed from a Morgoth
02:29 to a girly princess.
02:31 When I think of the girly princess look,
02:33 I think of pink, sparkles, long blonde hair
02:38 and anything super girly and feminine.
02:41 The reason that I was interested
02:43 in the girly princess kind of look
02:45 was that's how I dressed when I was younger
02:47 and that's how my mom remembers me being
02:49 when I was little.
02:50 I'm revealing the look to my mom today
02:52 and I think she'll have quite a dramatic reaction
02:55 as it's kind of the polar opposite
02:57 of what I am now.
02:58 I am nervous to see the kind of reaction
03:01 that I have myself because it's going to be so different.
03:04 So what do you think about my style in general?
03:10 - I hope that you feel that we've always said
03:15 you can be whoever you want to be.
03:18 What's happening today then?
03:19 - So I'm going from my look to a pinky princess.
03:24 - You're kidding.
03:29 What like really pinky?
03:32 - Really girly, kind of how I was when I was young.
03:36 - Yeah, like little P?
03:38 - Little P.
03:39 - Oh, no way.
03:40 'Cause I always say like, I look at your photos
03:46 and go, how did this small person
03:49 who was upset if her clothing wasn't pink
03:54 then become someone who only,
03:56 so it's like a, wow.
03:59 - Yeah, going back in time.
04:00 So the makeup artist will be here soon,
04:03 so you can't see me until later.
04:05 - How exciting.
04:06 - Hiya. - Hi, nice to meet you.
04:14 Thank you.
04:15 So the look I'm going to do today
04:17 is gonna be like a nice soft glam princess,
04:20 girly makeup, probably bronzy, shimmery eyes,
04:24 nudey pinky lip, nice glowy cheeks, glowy skin.
04:27 I'm ready for you if you wanna come on in and take a seat.
04:30 - Awesome.
04:31 - Just on there.
04:32 - Thank you.
04:33 - Perfect.
04:34 Is it gonna feel weird to have different makeup?
04:39 - Probably, yeah.
04:40 - How long does it take you to do it?
04:42 - It depends on the look.
04:44 Like today's probably took about 40 minutes.
04:47 - Oh, that's actually not too bad.
04:49 - Yeah.
04:49 - What made you wanna do like this girly princess
04:54 sort of transformation?
04:55 - I used to be very girly when I was a little girl.
04:58 - Did you?
04:59 - I think it would just be cool seeing me in that,
05:02 but like as an adult.
05:03 - Yeah, definitely.
05:04 - Yeah.
05:05 - Oh, it's gonna be exciting.
05:08 So who are you gonna be revealing your look to later on?
05:11 - I'm revealing it to my mom.
05:13 - Oh, what do you reckon she's gonna think?
05:16 Or say?
05:18 - I feel like she'd be quite shocked.
05:20 - Really?
05:21 - Yeah, it'd be like kind of nice for her to see me.
05:24 - Yeah.
05:25 (upbeat music)
05:27 - Hey, are you ready to see?
05:49 - Yeah.
05:50 - Here we go.
05:51 - Oh my God.
05:55 - What do you think?
05:56 - I look so different.
05:57 - I bet it's a massive shock probably.
06:01 - Yeah, the blonde.
06:03 - Is it the hair that's shocked you the most?
06:05 - Yeah, and the makeup, I look so much older.
06:08 Literally feel like Barbie.
06:11 - You do, you look like Barbie.
06:12 Was there anything out the look that you feel like,
06:14 no, I don't like that, I want that gone?
06:16 - Possibly the bag and I think the shoes are cute,
06:20 but they're pretty impossible to walk in.
06:23 - What do you make of your new look?
06:25 - It definitely doesn't feel like me,
06:29 but it's given me a kind of respect for the people
06:31 that do dress like this.
06:33 - Oh my God.
06:41 - Surprise.
06:46 - Oh my God.
06:49 - I look so different.
06:52 - Wow, it's made me feel quite emotional.
06:54 It's your face that's really.
06:58 - I look older.
06:59 I don't look like me.
07:01 - I look older, don't I, I think.
07:03 - I didn't expect it to be so bamboozling.
07:08 I think you're just incredibly beautiful.
07:16 I think that was my first thing when,
07:21 because I was looking at your face,
07:23 not so much what you were wearing.
07:25 And I just thought you looked like a model.
07:27 I know I'm biased, but hello.
07:30 - I think one of the things that I've kind of learned
07:37 is like feeling more comfortable in a less dramatic makeup,
07:42 like seeing myself in a more natural way, embracing that.
07:45 - What did you think of your mum's reaction?
07:47 - I think it was really wholesome.
07:49 Yeah, like she seems happy to go to see me
07:51 in a different look.
07:52 And yeah, it was a really nice moment.
