00:12 Or do you say, hey, listen, let's really buckle down and let's really go out and

00:16 thrive and play hard and play well and get this group ready to go.

00:19 We see teams all around the country lose good players and say, hey,

00:22 somebody else has got to step up.

00:24 Georgia loses Brock Bowers and their offense starts to take off.

00:27 Did they take off because Brock Bowers is no longer there?

00:30 No, it took off because with Brock Bowers not out, other guys stepped up and

00:35 said, hey, I got to raise my game.

00:37 So Pat Coogan's going to have to raise his game.

00:40 If Zeke Corral's out there, he's got to raise his game up.

00:43 Blake Fisher's got to raise his game up and help Billy Shrouth kind of come along.

00:47 And then Billy needs to kind of play well.

00:48 So I'm actually excited to see how Billy Shrouth does this weekend.

00:53 If Ashton Craig's playing at center,

00:54 I'm very excited to see what Ashton Craig is going to do this weekend.

00:57 I think he's a player that has a chance to do something at Notre Dame.

01:03 He's a guy that the Notre Dame staff loves.

01:04 It's not just this staff, Joe Rudolph.

01:07 I heard the same thing about Coach Eastan.

01:09 I heard Coach Eastan was very high on Ashton Craig and

01:11 really loved the potential that he brought to the table.

01:14 And so we're seeing two years in a row now where there's been some very high

01:18 expectations and a lot of hopes for Ashton Craig.

01:20 I just don't know that he was necessarily ready yet to step into that role.

01:24 And I don't know that right now I'm expecting him to play like gangbusters.

01:29 Because I do think he's probably a year away, meaning looking into 2024,

01:33 a year away, to be that guy that can step in and thrive.

01:39 But as we saw against Clemson, I know Vince talked about this, and

01:42 I think Ryan also talked about it, Sean talked about it.

01:46 But they were correct, when he was thrust into the lineup late in the game,

01:49 he battled.

01:51 I wouldn't say that he necessarily played great, but he battled.

01:54 And that's what you wanna see, and you hope that Billy Shrouth will do the same

01:57 thing with him stepping into the starting lineup.

01:58 Cuz this is an opportunity for both players, if they play,

02:02 to set their mark on next season.
