00:00 "Barsatu President Muhyiddin Yassin should not be given permission to go abroad as he
00:06 is still facing three criminal charges," said Deputy Public Prosecutor Lim Wai Kiong
00:11 in a court filing.
00:13 Lim said the former Prime Minister's application for the unrestricted release of his passport
00:18 cannot be granted as he is facing three money laundering charges over 200 million ringgit
00:23 linked to the Janawibawar programme implemented by his administration.
00:28 Lim said although the High Court had struck out charges relating to the predicated offence
00:32 of abuse of power brought against Muhyiddin, an appeal to reinstate them is pending in
00:37 the Court of Appeal.
00:38 He said the hearing of the appeal has been fixed for February 28 and 29.
00:44 Lim said Muhyiddin could apply for a temporary release of his travel documents from time
00:48 to time to go overseas for vacation and medical examination.
00:53 When his application filed on October 16, Muhyiddin had asked for a variation of his
00:58 bail conditions, including the unconditional release of his travel documents, to enable
01:02 him to go on a holiday with members of his family and to undergo a medical check-up in
01:07 Singapore.
