00:00 There are so many pantomimes taking place across the North East this year so we have
00:05 rounded up a few so you can see what's going on this festive season in the world of Panto.
00:10 Firstly, we take a trip to the Sunderland Empire where Beauty and the Beast will be
00:15 playing.
00:16 This year's Panto is a tale as old as time, starring Emmerdale's Charlie Hardwick as Fairy
00:20 Bon Bon, Miss Rory as Rorina Leplanc and Panto favourite Tom Worley as Louis Leplanc.
00:26 But can Belle break the curse and fall in love and can she save the Beast?
00:30 You will have to wait and see at the Sunderland Empire from the 8th to the 31st of December.
00:35 For our next Panto, we take a trip to the Darlington Hippodrome to see Gareth Gates
00:39 in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
00:41 Joining pop and musical theatre star Gareth Gates is Jenny the Vixen Ryan from ITV's The
00:47 Chase as the Wicked Queen as well as Panto favourite Josh Benson who will be playing
00:51 the lovable Muddles.
00:53 With a magic mirror, the Magnificent Seven and plenty of audience participation, this
00:58 classic fairy tale will not be one to miss this festive season.
01:01 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be playing at the Darlington Hippodrome from the 8th
01:05 to the 31st of December.
01:08 For our next Pantomime, we take a look at Cinderella at the Playhouse Whitley Bay.
01:12 This classic fairy tale where a girl meets her prince features some Panto favourites
01:16 including Steve Waltz as Buttons and Simmons and Simmons as the Prince's Footmen.
01:21 We follow the classic tale of Cinderella as she makes her way to the ball to meet her
01:25 prince but will she make it there without her ugly sisters finding out?
01:29 It also features TV and dance sensation Louis Spence as the Fairy Godfather who helps Cinderella
01:34 go to the ball and we managed to speak to him as he tried on his wings.
01:38 Yeah, I mean, you know, I don't really get nervous.
01:41 It's more excited, you know, so and Panto's always fun.
01:44 It's never, you know, something, it's not like, I mean, it is serious but it's fun.
01:49 It's for the family, you know, you can interact with the audience a bit so it's a little bit
01:53 looser than when you do a West End show and everything has to be 100% to script.
01:58 So yeah, I just always look forward to, you know, having fun at Christmas.
02:03 Cinderella will be bringing some magic to Whitley Bay this festive season at the Playhouse
02:07 from the 8th of December to the 6th of January.
02:10 Now let's take a trip to Neverland, well, to the Time Theatre and Opera House to see
02:14 Peter Pan.
02:15 So many stars are in this Panto including the North East's own Sam Lavery as Tiger Lily.
02:21 Time Theatre comic Charlie Richmond will star as Mr. Smee and Lewis Denny is back by popular
02:25 demand as Mrs. Smee.
02:27 Peter Pan will be running from the 8th of December to the 7th of January at the Time
02:31 Theatre and Opera House.
02:34 And for our final Pantomime, we take a look at Pinocchio at the Theatre Royal.
02:38 Danny Adams stars as Pinocchio this Christmas time in Newcastle and Clive Webb will be playing
02:42 Geppetto and it also stars Newcastle's own Joe McKeldrie as Jiminy Cricket.
02:47 This classic fairy tale will be showing at the Theatre Royal from the 28th of November
02:51 to the 14th of January.
02:53 So there are so many different pantomimes taking place across the region, so there is
02:57 plenty of shows to choose from to celebrate this festive season.
