00:00 Well Diwali has just kind of wrapped up,
00:01 One of the most wonderful festivals I have ever experienced.
00:04 With Diwali of course and post Diwali really,
00:07 You get a lot of hampers, gifts that are just lying around in the house.
00:12 When it comes to edible hampers, that's one big lag.
00:16 How do you recycle them?
00:18 What do you do with all the leftover edible hampers?
00:21 All you do is recycle and create a recipe.
00:24 Now here is a hamper, let's see what's in the hamper.
00:28 And let's create a recycled leftover recipe.
00:31 Let's begin.
00:32 Some roses.
00:36 Slab of chocolate.
00:38 Some sunflower seeds.
00:41 Some cashew nuts.
00:42 And finally, some Indian sweets.
00:45 Moti Chur Laddu and Kaju Katli.
00:47 Now that I have here with me a bar of dark chocolate,
00:51 I have some Kaju Katli, I have Moti Chur Laddu,
00:55 Cashew nuts, sunflower seeds and rose petals.
00:58 What immediately kind of comes to my mind is,
01:00 Chocolate barks.
01:02 Let's make Moti Chur Chocolate Barks.
01:05 Well, you'd be wondering what chocolate barks are.
01:08 If you understand the history of chocolate,
01:10 Let's go back several decades, several centuries back.
01:13 Mayans.
01:14 The Mayan history says that there was a town called Lanaya.
01:18 Now a lot of people think that is a town where chocolates originated,
01:21 Kind of the birthplace of chocolate.
01:23 A lot of people also think and are of the belief,
01:26 That the entire town was made of chocolates.
01:29 Now whatever the story, whatever the history,
01:31 There was a fallen tree,
01:32 Which looked very craggy, which looked very unscrupulously placed.
01:37 And the bark of that or the chip of that eventually,
01:41 Started looking like a dessert.
01:43 And that is where the birth of chocolate bark came in from.
01:47 So chocolate bark is basically a slab of chocolate which is unfinished,
01:51 Very craggy looking.
01:54 But trust me, beautiful, colourful,
01:57 And one of those desserts that you can make in a jiffy.
02:00 Now all you need to do is melt chocolate,
02:02 Spread it nice and thin,
02:04 And add in all of these wonderful things.
02:06 Now, let's officially begin.
02:08 First things first,
02:10 You take the slab of chocolate.
02:12 And cut this, roughly like so.
02:16 Now the dark chocolate here is chopped and ready.
02:23 What we need to do is melt this.
02:25 Now you can do this in a microwave,
02:27 You can do this in a double boiler,
02:29 Whatever you are comfortable with.
02:30 The whole idea here is to ensure that there is no liquid.
02:33 No milk, no cream, no water.
02:34 Just chocolate melted and that's about it.
02:37 Let's transfer all of this in a glass bowl,
02:40 Which is microwave proof.
02:42 And let's transfer this.
02:43 Well I have chosen to microwave this for a minute,
02:48 Undisturbed.
02:50 And then the first stir right here.
02:53 At this stage ensure you break all the little pieces of chocolate,
02:56 So that the heat also melts that.
02:59 Do not get tempted to heat further,
03:01 The chocolate may just burn.
03:03 The chocolate is melted and ready.
03:08 Let's pour this onto a resting sheet.
03:12 Now in this case you can use a butter paper or a baking sheet.
03:15 Let's spread this,
03:17 Across the surface of the paper.
03:22 Let's crush the Mothichood Laddu right on top of this.
03:25 Some fresh Rose Petals.
03:36 I'm just snipping a few Rose Petals roughly like so.
03:40 Finally let's cut the Kaju Katli.
03:43 And again,
03:47 The Kaju Katli.
03:48 In its most identifiable shape.
03:54 And that is a mini diamond.
03:56 After keeping the chocolate bark aside for 15-20 minutes,
03:59 You see that it sets perfectly well.
04:02 And this is the time when you peel off the paper,
04:04 And start cracking it.
04:05 Let's lift this carefully.
04:07 And if you see,
04:08 All of this has set very well on the chocolate.
04:12 Now from one of the ends,
04:14 You start peeling off the paper.
04:18 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:20 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:23 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:26 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:28 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:31 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:33 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:35 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:37 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:39 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
04:41 And you can see that the Kaju Katli has set very well.
