00:00 Hello there, Lee Sobot at the Yorkshire Evening Post here from Ellen Road, a very cold Ellen
00:06 Road but an Ellen Road that was warmed up with a 3-1 victory for Daniel Fark's Whites
00:10 against Swansea City as Leeds bounce back from Friday night's, you've got to say, disappointing
00:14 draw against Rotherham United, which Daniel Fark said might look like a good point in
00:19 the end of the season and it will do if they keep on winning games like they've done tonight
00:25 after a real frantic start, it has to be said, crazy opening five minutes. Leeds look like
00:31 they've gone in front, I think it was about 45 seconds on the clock through Dan James
00:35 who netted from close range, very quickly flagged offside, not seen that one back but
00:38 it looked pretty tight. Literally 15 seconds later, Swansea 1-0 up, Pascal Stroik is obviously
00:43 back in the side now from his hernia issues but really a bit of a poor defensive header
00:49 from him trying to clear a ball over the top, the player nipped him there and lobbed home
00:55 at Paterson with a neat, very nice lob, you've got to say, first time finished to lob over
00:59 Melier to make it 1-0 to the visitors. Ellen Road was a little bit stunned but within four
01:03 minutes Leeds were level and that man, it had to be, didn't it, against Swansea, Jean
01:08 Perou against his former club, a very neat finish after Somerville who was probably man
01:13 of the match again, certainly a live contender, just very, very lively throughout, a lovely
01:16 free ball from him. That was 1-1, there was more chances, a penalty appeal turned down,
01:20 Sam Byron's cross definitely looked to have hit a hand, that could well have been given.
01:27 Chances both sides, Ellen Road, the crowd here got a little bit restless as Swansea
01:30 started to create chances but I think it was the third minute of first half stoppage time
01:34 that Leeds went in front for Giogy Nerutu and that was a really lovely goal, fine ball
01:38 over the top from Ethan Ampadu, great, just a really good striker play from Routier, firstly
01:43 to get away from his man, then great strength and a real composed finish and that was a
01:47 lovely goal, 2-1 up at the break. You sort of felt then that obviously Leeds were on
01:50 the way to victory, but obviously two ones, only one goal, anything can happen. This was
01:55 the problem at Rotherham, wasn't it, they're only one goal in front and plenty of chances
01:59 to get a third and eventually arrived through Dan James who should have scored moments earlier
02:03 after great pressing but fired straight at the keeper but no mistake, second time around,
02:07 went finishing after another lovely ball from Routier who was very, very good again. There
02:12 were more chances, Patrick Bamford came on, he had a couple of chances, two or three chances,
02:16 he looks desperate for a goal but went close but no cigar, no goal for him. Jadon Antony
02:22 headed over right at the death and Leeds could have scored, you know, they could have got
02:25 anything really in the end, there were plenty of chances, Swansea the odd little bit of
02:28 threat as well but in the end a 3-1 victory and a nice bonus at the end, Leicester looked
02:32 to be heading for victory when they were 1-0 up at Sheffield Wednesday but that ended up
02:35 1-1 so Leeds have closed the gap on the Foxes, Ipswich won again though so the gap is now
02:40 7 and 8 points to those two teams so it's a decent gap still, there's plenty of work
02:44 to do but another step in the right direction, some hard games coming up, Middlesbrough at
02:48 the weekend here at Ellen Road, we all know how well they've been doing lately but basically
02:51 tonight after a very frantic start it's job done, Leeds United 3, Swansea City 1.
