00:00 Hello there, Lee Sobot at the Yorkshire Evening Post here from Ellen Road where Leeds United
00:06 have recorded their first home league victory of the season and really in some style blitzing
00:13 Watford 3-0 after a goalless first half. The goals always looked like they were going to
00:17 come playing the way they were playing. We saw a midweek at Hull, plenty of missed chances
00:21 and a goalless draw obviously in a game that turned on the red card for Joe Rodon and in
00:25 the end Leeds digging in to hold on for a point. But it was a different story here,
00:29 just dominant from the outset and in the end very, very impressive winners and a really
00:34 pleasing performance. Georginio Routier was excellent, a brilliant performance from him.
00:39 He should have scored in the first half when he had an easy chance but doesn't take away
00:42 from his performance which was amazing, likes some fantastic skill and he's really getting
00:47 better and better each time. And the goals, Joel Pirro yet again with his fourth goal
00:51 already for Leeds. I mean we thought he'd score goals here and he's certainly doing
00:55 that. Sam Byron with the header from a corner to make it 2-0, a great moment for him for
00:59 his first goal upon his return. And still time for one more goal for Jadon Anthony who
01:04 came on for his home debut from the bench. He immediately impressed as well, should have
01:10 scored before he did score but then put his second chance away after superb work from
01:15 Routier with a through ball. Also a debut for Ilya Gruev in the final stages. Just all
01:20 in all, a very, very pleasing performance from Leeds and based on that they should have
01:25 a very, very good chance of going back up. What you would say is that it is early in
01:30 the season but even at this stage it does look like Leicester and Ipswich in particular
01:34 aren't showing any signs of relenting so there is a bit of a gap to them. So it's
01:38 kind of on Leeds really to keep this form going now and this momentum going and just
01:41 hope that those two start to slip up. But it should be said it is obviously very, very
01:45 early into the season with just eight games played. Liam Cooper made his full return from
01:49 injury. He started as we all expected he would coming in for Roden. Very good performance
01:53 from him at centre-back but you could say that all over the pitch really. Dan James
01:56 has obviously always been criticised for end product. His pace is obviously frightening
02:00 but two assists from him today so that is obviously very, very pleasing to see from
02:05 Dan James as well. And I think Routier really the standout man. Ampadu in centre midfield,
02:10 brilliant signing. He has been here as a class act again as well. So you can't really complain
02:14 of anything today. Daniel Farke was asked afterwards what his most pleasing aspect was
02:18 about this performance and he said the clean sheet which is a big thing to say really when
02:22 obviously you have been so good going forward and scoring three goals. But he basically
02:25 knows that that is the foundation for success. That is now four clean sheets in a row which
02:30 is some going and there was a fine save from Eli Melier at the end to make sure that happened.
02:34 That win put Leeds fifth. You would hope the only way is up. Southampton away is next,
02:38 aside sort of not exactly firing on all cylinders at the moment. So obviously Leeds will hope
02:43 to go there and get something, maybe even another three points. But they are definitely
02:47 looking good. They are always going to get better as the season went on and the fact
02:49 that we are still only eight games in and they are playing like that already, very,
02:52 very encouraging. I think everyone can enjoy the weekends. Full time here, Leeds United
02:55 three, Watford nil.
