00:00 Joe Cran a winter wonderland here outside Hillsborough. It's so lovely and pretty isn't it?
00:06 And a point, a very good point, a deserved point against the table top in Leicester City
00:10 with millions of pounds worth of Premier League talent and like I say it was
00:14 deserved and a good watch. Yeah it was I thought from the off as well you know
00:19 Wednesday we were on it you know straight away. 20 seconds in that first.
00:23 Yeah yeah we won't talk about that chance. On a general level
00:29 Wednesday were good today. I think look you look at the possession stats in
00:32 Leicester Boston in that in that respect but if you look at the chances if you
00:36 look at the actual chances created over the game I think Wednesday if they'd won
00:40 it wouldn't have been you know it would have been flattering to them. Wednesday had
00:43 the chances and I think there's a point to be made on the Leicester possession.
00:46 The way that Wednesday set up, I was talking to you during the game I was
00:50 fascinated I couldn't stop watching it the way they set up very narrow. Johnson
00:54 and Paterson were asked to do something that I'd not seen wing-backs at
00:58 Wednesday do before in that they're inverted when Leicester had the ball and a lot
01:03 of that possession was... For the sake of it. Yeah it wasn't it wasn't particularly
01:07 dangerous possession and I think against a team with Leicester's talents that has
01:10 to be commended. Really impressed by how Danny Rowell set Wednesday up and like
01:16 you say in that first 20 minutes if if one of those chances two of those
01:19 chances have been taken look it would have been a very different game. Leicester would have gone
01:22 about things differently you think. But yeah they were very very competitive
01:28 and I think in many ways like you say they're the better team tonight. Plenty to
01:34 talk about. Just had a really revealing post-match interview with Danny Rowell
01:41 and there'll be plenty going up in the in the next couple of days leading into
01:45 the... I'm off Jono, it's not for you. Yeah I've got it all to do. That moment that Jeff Hendrick puts that in I sort of made the point
01:55 look Wednesday are a team that have snatched your chances. And what today even.
01:59 They look scared don't they in front of goal. It's almost like they don't back themselves at the moment.
02:05 There's sort of an insight into the mindset perhaps. A player like Barry
02:10 Bannon with that chance on 20 seconds. Callum Paterson had a big chance. What we
02:15 saw in the ground over our shoulder six months to the day you know in in the
02:20 most stressful and pressurized of circumstances how calmly he took that
02:25 that chance in extra time against Peter. These are players that time and again
02:29 have proven that they can take these chances. There's just something happened
02:32 this season and there's something to be said I think. It wasn't a 30-yard scream.
02:37 It wasn't the most difficult chance that you ever see but in that situation
02:40 having a 79 cap Republic of Ireland international that's played 200 plus games in the
02:46 Premier League I think it counted in that moment. Look no one's pretending
02:50 that Jeff Hendricks blown the doors off it since he's come here. He's probably
02:54 done quite the opposite but having someone like that in that moment was
02:57 a string to end those both. Yeah and it was there was a timing of the run as
03:01 well the movement was perfect and look like what Callum Paterson's header for
03:05 that was proper. We have to talk about him because and I asked Danny
03:11 about him after the game because it's I think with Pato you he's sort of
03:17 maligned in to some extent but in the way that Danny wants to play he will
03:23 always be part of things because his engine is just incredible he just keeps
03:27 going and you can he can create moments like he did today and that wasn't a
03:33 a slew key flick on that was a cushioned header to a man that he maybe not knew
03:39 was gonna be there but hoped was gonna be there and I think he deserves a lot
03:43 of credit not just for the assist but for the whole performance he put in
03:45 today because he was everywhere. Some would say it was an assist that was put
03:49 on a satin pillow. Yeah yeah some doing mat ratings. A word quickly because it's
03:56 absolutely freezing my hands shaking Callum Dawson, it's been a long
04:01 night Cameron Dawson someone that's been spoken about a lot and a lot of
04:05 debate within the fan base certainly over the last couple of weeks I think
04:09 it's really ramped up. A couple of shaky moments in there perhaps
04:14 understandably it felt like the ground was not convinced by his presence but
04:18 that save with literally the last last wave of the game really big moment. Yeah
04:24 it was full reflex as well you know that is that is years and years of goalkeeper
04:28 training going right right place right time and that is exactly what it was and
04:32 you could see how much it meant to him afterwards and do you know what I thought
04:34 was telling as well was when because the final whistle went straight after that
04:38 and so many Wednesday players ran straight over to him. This is a
04:42 this is a it means a lot to the team like it's almost like you come from our
04:50 guy and they don't like it they don't like to see especially from your own
04:54 fans and I think people the Leicester fans picked up on it tonight yeah you
04:58 could see when when Wednesday fans were starting to go at Cam a little bit
05:02 the Leicester fans joined in and it kind of ramped up so to have made that save
05:08 in those circumstances I think says a lot about where Cam is at and the
05:12 mental space that he's in and you look at he spoke before didn't you
05:17 know when he came back from Exeter about how much that loan spell had
05:21 changed him and that felt I think that felt like a big moment for Cam but
05:24 tonight felt like a big moment for Wednesday as well.
05:26 So they did, nice work to finish it. Joe Cran and Alex Miller here for the Sheffield Star
05:31 reflecting on that 1-1. As I said over the next couple of days I'm on my own
05:35 tomorrow so I've got to shift through the entirety of that post-match press
05:39 conference. Joe will have his feet up but yeah heading into Blackburn Rovers and
05:44 another opportunity to get their home form really going. It was a promising
05:47 display Wednesday well worth their point against Leicester City this evening.
