00:05 A village in West Sussex was reportedly under siege after a main sewer collapsed.
00:10 A stench of raw sewage wafted around Barnham after the incident on Thursday and major traffic destruction has been reported.
00:16 A Southern Water spokesperson said "Our teams are repairing a collapsed sewer at Barnham Road which has resulted in a full road closure.
00:23 The repair is proving to be difficult due to further issues we have encountered including a void under the road which means this work may take some time to complete.
00:31 We are very sorry for the disruption this is causing."
00:33 Southern Water will be discussing traffic arrangements with bus company Stagecoach following the closure of Barnham Road and added that it recognises this is having an impact on people in the area.
00:42 Meanwhile, a Horsham chef who has cooked his way to the finals of MasterChef for the Professionals has spoken of his terror at taking part in the contest.
00:50 24-year-old Tom Hamblett, who is a sous chef at Horsham's 5-star South Lodge Hotel, said when he first got the call saying he'd made it into the culinary competition he was "absolutely terrified" and "almost dreading it".
01:01 He said he didn't believe he was good enough.
01:03 But he said he learned to have more trust in his abilities during the competition.
01:06 He said "I'm so relieved to be in finals week. Now it's at the point where win or lose, I can hold my head up high and appreciate how far I've come.
01:13 Saying that, I'm going to give my all and hopefully still be there at the very end."
01:17 Finally, the Golden Age of Steam returned to Sussex briefly this week when an historic locomotive made a visit to the area.
01:23 The Christmas Brighton Beltrain ran from London, Victoria to the Sussex coast on Wednesday, crossing the North and South Downs and passing through the beautiful countryside of the Weald.
01:32 It was hauled by an LMS Black 5 locomotive.
01:35 It was introduced by William Stania and built between 1934 and 1951, of which 842 of the Black 5s were built.
01:43 Of these, only 18 are still in existence.
01:46 The train journey on Wednesday, which offered fine dining experience to passengers, was run by the Railway Touring Company.
