00:00 Welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Vedant Johari and we are at the beautiful location of Nandi Hills today
00:05 to test out Rice Motors Trail R tyres.
00:08 These are a 50/50 mix of on-road and off-road tyres.
00:13 So who is Rice Motors?
00:14 They are a sub-brand of the Gujarat-based company Mahansaria Group, led by Mr. Yogesh Mahansaria
00:21 and they have partnered with Neetas Tyres, a European tyre manufacturing group,
00:27 to produce their tyres in India.
00:30 So let's go see how these tyres fare on off-road and on-road.
00:35 Now we've had a lot of fun with the Rice Motors tyres, through off-road sections, riding it on road,
00:50 through curves, whatever you threw at us, we took it.
00:53 And the tyres could honestly withstand everything we went through.
00:58 So at the front, we have 90/90 21-inch tyres and at the rear, we have 120/19 17-inch tyres.
01:07 Now this setup on the old Himalayan is perfect.
01:11 Through the off-road sections, you could take it over bumps with utmost confidence.
01:15 The stones would get channelled through the grooves and avoid the tyre from losing any of the friction.
01:21 And while riding it on road, as it's a 50/50 split, it gave us as good performance on-road as it did off-road.
01:29 Now on-road, we rode from the city all the way till Nandi Hills.
01:33 That was through highways, through cities, through bumps and a lot of corners.
01:38 And you could really lean the bike, again, having full confidence,
01:42 being sure that the tyre would be able to take whatever you throw at it.
01:47 At complete lean also, normally on off-road tyres,
01:50 you do feel the tyre slip and all of that, but here, you didn't feel anything.
01:55 It was planted to the ground, it was very sticky, even though it has the off-road setup.
02:01 The only place you did feel the slipping was when you're going off-road, downhill,
02:04 you do encounter some loose rubble, loose stones and especially loose gravel.
02:10 So when we were going downhill, you did feel the tyre slip and bounce a little bit.
02:15 However, as soon as we crossed that section and we were back onto the mud and the stony places,
02:22 the tyre was back and was showing what it's truly made of.
02:26 We rode these tyres for around 70 to 80 kilometres, both on-road and off-road.
02:32 And probably the off-road section was a good 5 or 6 kilometres, but it was really, really good.
02:39 Even towards the end of our off-road trial, after pushing the tyres so much,
02:45 it still gives you that maximum amount of grip that we had.
02:48 So the Rice Motor Trail R tyres are really, really good, especially in this off-roading setup,
02:54 the 17-inch rear and the 21-inch front, it handles like a dream, no matter what terrain you take it through.
03:00 So this was the Rice Motor Trail R tyre review and I hope you guys enjoyed the video.
