00:00 in the Casino Buenos Aires.
00:02 It was a 10-round unanimous decision victory
00:04 over the Nigerian Afolabe Shitu.
00:07 Meanwhile, Efrain Rodriguez, also busy,
00:09 fighting in March, last March,
00:12 in Distrito Federal, Mexico City.
00:14 That was a quick fight, second round knock TKO
00:16 over Diego Reyes.
00:19 So you figure with the records,
00:21 I figure Quiroga may be the better boxer,
00:24 and Rodriguez will have the power advantage.
00:26 We'll see how that plays out
00:28 over the next 10 rounds,
00:30 if it gets that far, goes that far.
00:33 One of two Argentina-Mexico matchups here in Cordoba.
00:40 The co-main event, Ramon Quiroga
00:43 against Efrain Rodriguez here on ProBoxTV.com,
00:46 your boxing channel, good fighters in great fights.
00:50 This promotion in association with Samsung Boxing
00:53 and Teo Box as well.
00:55 - [speaking Spanish]
00:58 - Quiroga looks very calm before this fight.
01:00 George DiMatteis alongside world champion Chris Algieri.
01:04 Thank you very much for joining us here on ProBoxTV.com.
01:07 First round underway.
01:08 Ramon Quiroga in the sky blue and dark blue trunks
01:12 with the red gloves, and the Mexican Efrain Rodriguez
01:15 in the green trunks with the black gloves.
01:19 Underway, and Rodriguez,
01:21 not afraid to show those power punches early.
01:23 - With the left.
01:25 - You know, George, our tape didn't show any difference
01:27 in terms of the height and reach,
01:28 but it looks to me like Rodriguez is the bigger man.
01:30 He looks taller, he looks longer.
01:32 We've seen that already.
01:33 He started fast from the outside.
01:38 See if he can use that to his advantage.
01:39 - Yeah, 100% knockout record.
01:41 You figure he might be trying to go for the knockout quick.
01:44 [crowd cheering]
01:47 - You know, George, you had mentioned
01:56 the record of Rodriguez, 707 KOs.
02:00 Most of his fights, if not all of his fights,
02:02 are fought in Mexico.
02:03 There's a lot of opponents out there,
02:04 and they can be very low level.
02:06 So that can be a deceiving record.
02:08 So I wouldn't bank too much on the record, but we'll see.
02:12 - 26 years of age.
02:14 It's gonna be his first real test,
02:15 'cause first fight outside of Mexico,
02:18 and this is the first time he's scheduled
02:19 for a fight more than eight rounds.
02:21 So if it goes a distance, his stamina and training
02:27 will be put to the test against Ramon Quiroga.
02:30 Five wins, one loss, two by knockout.
02:34 - And that's one thing about the lighter weights.
02:35 You'll see guys with less than 10 fights
02:37 who are in 10-rounders,
02:39 and Quiroga has been in a couple.
02:41 So he tends to move much quicker in the lighter weights
02:44 than we see in some of the heavier weight classes.
02:47 - Oh, good left hand there, the jab there with Rodriguez,
02:50 and then tries to follow with the right.
02:54 - Good sharp stuff between these two.
02:56 Got a nice nip-tuck first round.
02:58 Ooh, little off-balance shot there
02:59 from Rodriguez, pushes Quiroga back.
03:03 - Less than a minute here in the first round.
03:06 - Ooh, big overhand right from Rodriguez, lands clean.
03:10 Goes to the body as well.
03:12 And these two not afraid to exchange
03:14 in the middle of the ring.
03:16 That bodes well for the entertainment factor
03:18 of this fight, as--
03:20 - You mentioned, George, that the lighter weights
03:22 are generally quicker-paced, and they throw more punches,
03:25 and they're very entertaining.
03:26 It looks like we got one here
03:27 right in front of us tonight.
03:28 - Ooh. - Ooh.
03:31 Early on, both of these fighters dropping some bombs here.
03:36 A good start to this round here for Quiroga and Rodriguez.

04:00 They know how to fight, letting those hands go early on.

05:17 Ramon Quiroga of Argentina in the sky blue
05:19 and dark blue trunks, red gloves,
05:22 going up against Train Rodriguez
05:24 in the green trunks and black gloves.
05:28 First round was some good action.
05:32 Second round we hope will continue.
05:35 - Quiroga, man, he's pretty slick.
05:37 His defense is very subtle.
05:39 He slides and rolls with these shots quite well,
05:41 lets his hands go.
05:44 Nice upper body rhythm.
05:46 Gets those shoulders moving, changes levels quite well,
05:48 uses those feints.
05:51 - Ooh, big uppercut missed there by Rodriguez.
05:56 - Yeah, I really like that head move from Quiroga.
05:59 Moving nicely on the outside.
06:01 I think he felt some of that power of that 707 KO
06:05 Rodriguez in round one.
06:06 Ooh, good right hand over the top.
06:10 - And one thing about Rodriguez is
06:11 when he decides to throw the punches, he lets it go.
06:16 - Yeah, he believes in his power.
06:17 You can see it.
06:19 As he should.
06:20 He's got 100% KO percentage coming into this fight, so.
06:23 Oh, left hook upstairs.
06:25 Great shot there from Quiroga.
06:28 - Good exchanges there between these two fighters.
06:31 - And you see what I mean, George?
06:32 When he slides out, he's got his defense up.
06:34 He's not pulling out lazily.
06:36 He moves out with smart defense.
06:39 - Good combination by Quiroga there,
06:41 trying to get through the defense.
06:43 Rodriguez, Rodriguez left hand to the body.
06:46 - Good double shot there with the left hand from Quiroga.
06:51 He went upstairs and downstairs.
06:55 And you see both fighters, when they get in close,
06:58 they're both willing just to let it go and let the hands fly.
07:01 That means it's going to get some good shots
07:03 and some entertaining boxing here.
07:08 - That's one of the things I think a lot of American fans
07:10 don't know much about the flyweights.
07:11 They don't really pay attention to the smaller guys.
07:13 But if you really tune in and watch,
07:15 these guys are very classy, good, explosive,
07:18 entertaining fights.
07:19 This is a great matchup here.
07:22 - You see both have good hand speed,
07:24 it looks like, as well.
07:26 - Oh, good exchange there.
07:27 Both men landed beautifully.
07:29 Rodriguez landed a good right hand.
07:30 Quiroga came back with a left hook upstairs.
07:32 - Good second round here with less than 30 seconds here.
07:35 - Oh, good left hook from Quiroga on the inside.
07:39 He timed that perfectly.
07:42 Doubles up the right hand.
07:43 Nice combination.
07:46 - And off the ropes there, Rodriguez with the left.
07:49 The first round was entertaining.
07:51 This one is-- - Even better.
07:53 - Even better, for sure.
07:54 Less than 10 seconds left here in this second round.
07:57 - [grunting]
07:58 - Yeah.
08:00 - Go!
08:01 - And that ends the second round
08:03 in what has been a very active first two rounds
08:06 for these two flyweights.
08:08 And let's take a look at the keys to victory.
08:11 Let's begin with Ifray Rodriguez.
08:13 Yes, or excuse me, Quiroga first.
08:15 Close the space, stay aggressive,
08:16 and patience for the Argentine fighter.
08:18 - Yeah, and I think we're seeing that.
08:19 You know, he's doing a good job once he gets inside.
08:21 Let's let his hands go.
08:22 And like I said, he's very smart on the way out too.
08:24 He comes in smart, and he's smart on the exit.
08:26 That's the way to be.
08:27 Stay aggressive.
08:28 He likes to let his hands go.
08:29 He's throwing those nice combinations, as we've seen.
08:31 And also be patient.
08:32 He's got a puncher in front of him.
08:33 He doesn't want to overextend himself
08:35 and get hit with that big shot.
08:36 - You can see the corner man there for Quiroga
08:38 with his gestures kind of saying the same thing
08:40 with the body movement.
08:42 And for Ifray Rodriguez-Gonzalez,
08:43 watch the jab, listen to your corner, and quick start.
08:47 - Yeah, I mean, he started quick,
08:48 but so did his opponent.
08:49 So that might not be--
08:50 that might have not worked out for him in terms of his ki.
08:53 Watch the jab for sure.
08:54 He's got an opponent in front of him.
08:55 He's got a good jab.
08:56 He's using it well.
08:57 And listen to the corner.
08:58 You're fighting a guy who's got a lot of experience.
08:59 He's been 10 rounds before.
09:00 This is your first 10-rounder.
09:02 A lot of times, you have to lean on the guys who've been there,
09:04 like your corner, in a situation like this.
09:06 - Yeah, third round here in Cordoba.
09:09 And we've had two very good first--
09:11 the first two rounds have been very good, lots of action.
09:13 And it looks like the third round is going to continue.
09:16 Let's hope they can sustain this pace as the fight progresses,
09:19 as we get to those later rounds.
09:22 And it's the Mexican, Reyn Rodriguez,
09:24 in the green and trunks with the black gloves.
09:26 And Quiroga, a combination there, sky blue and red gloves.
09:30 - That was a beautiful exchange for Cayogo.
09:32 He came in with the jab.
09:33 He let his hands go.
09:34 He wasn't sure he was going to throw a combination,
09:35 but his opponent froze.
09:37 Let his hands go upstairs and downstairs.
09:38 And then on the way out, kept his hands up,
09:40 stayed smart defensively.
09:42 Beautiful exchange.
09:43 Cayogo took advantage there.
09:46 - Ooh, there's Rodriguez missing with the right hand.
09:48 And the way Rodriguez is throwing some of these punches,
09:53 if he connects one of them,
09:54 it looks like it's going to be night-night for Quiroga.
09:57 - Yeah, and that's why Quiroga--
09:59 part of the key to victory is to be patient.
10:01 'Cause you got a guy in front of you who can punch.
10:02 You got a guy who believes in his punch.
10:04 So you can't-- you got to set traps.
10:05 You got to make sure you're smart in and out,
10:08 and let those hands go whenever you have the chance.
10:10 Ooh, good shot there from Rodriguez on the inside.
10:11 Another one.
10:13 - Oh, and let's see if there was an accidental low blow.
10:17 We don't need any more low blow controversies in boxing,
10:21 especially after what happened in the heavyweights
10:23 a couple of days ago.
10:26 So he's going to walk it off there.
10:29 I think every man watching knows how that feels.
10:32 We don't need to go any further than that.
10:36 Obviously accidental, touching gloves,
10:38 and back into the action here.
10:40 As we are almost halfway through this third round,
10:44 it's scheduled 10.
10:46 - That right hook from Rodriguez has been a nice weapon.
10:49 He's--there it is again.
10:50 He's been finding a home for that this round.
10:53 Doubles up the jab and then a right hook around the glove,
10:55 being able to catch Quiroga on the ear.
10:56 Oh, big left hook from Quiroga.
11:00 - And that definitely was a knockdown there.
11:02 I think Rodriguez is thinking to slip, but nope.
11:05 It is a solid shot by Quiroga.
11:07 First knockdown of the match goes to the Argentine.
11:11 Well connected there, well done by Ramon Quiroga.
11:14 - Yeah, Quiroga with that left hook.
11:15 Again, he's throwing a lot of combination punching,
11:17 and, you know, that might have been more of a balanced shot
11:19 than anything, but he did go down on the end of a punch, so.
11:24 - And we were waiting to see one of these fighters
11:26 connect on a big shot,
11:28 and finally we got one here in the third round.
11:29 - Ooh, good body shot there from Rodriguez on the inside.
11:32 That's a great move, and you got a guy
11:33 who's getting real low in front of you,
11:35 is moving that head a lot.
11:36 The head becomes hard to find.
11:38 The body doesn't move as much.
11:40 Rodriguez found that left hook to the liver.
11:41 While Quiroga was getting his head moving.
11:45 - Yeah, this has been an action-packed third round,
11:47 the knockdown in favor of Quiroga.
11:50 - Ooh, big right.
11:59 And I was gonna say, Rodriguez,
12:00 even though he went down in this round,
12:02 has been having a really good round
12:03 between the body shots and a couple of those right hands,
12:06 but back comes Quiroga.
12:09 - Oh, this has been a fantastic third round
12:11 between Quiroga and Efrain Rodriguez.
12:14 - And we said the second round was better than the first.
12:17 Now the third round's better than the second.
12:19 Excellent action here.
12:21 - And the knockdown scored by Quiroga
12:23 in what has been an eventful fight
12:24 between these two flyweights,
12:26 and we'll see what happens in the fourth round,
12:30 but this third round has been fantastic.
12:32 The first three rounds have been very good
12:34 between these two fighters.
12:36 If you take a look at the knockdown again.
12:39 (crowd cheering)
12:41 - Nice combination here from Quiroga.
12:43 He lands that right hand left hook upstairs,
12:46 put a nice left hook to the body as well.
12:47 Here we're gonna take a look at that knockdown.
12:49 Yeah, and again, it is more of a balanced shot.
12:52 Rodriguez went down, but wasn't hurt by the shot,
12:57 but he's trying to pull away and got hit square.
12:59 He goes down, properly scored a knockdown.
13:01 - Yeah, let's take a look at what we have for you coming up,

13:27 I think he's gonna start early.
13:30 He's gonna have Dubois guessing all night long.
13:33 - Poland is filled with Ukrainians right now.
13:35 - Yeah, he's gonna be feeling that energy.

14:09 Fourth round here in Cuarto Argentina
14:11 as Ramon Quiroga scoring a knockdown in the third round.
14:15 But Ivan Rodriguez quitting himself very well here.
14:18 Let's see if he can bounce back,
14:19 maybe score a knockdown of his own here in the fourth round.
14:22 The Mexican in green, the Argentine in sky blue,
14:26 and I guess it's dark blue, black, I don't know.
14:29 You guys know the dance.
14:31 - That's the Argentine in blue right there,
14:33 that flag and then you've got the black with the white.
14:35 You know, you mentioned we've got great content,
14:37 great shows, great former champions.
14:39 We have a great fight right in front of us
14:40 right now here tonight.
14:41 These guys are not shy about letting
14:43 their hands go on the inside.
14:45 Lots of leather being thrown, quick hands.
14:47 We had a knockdown last round
14:48 from a left hook from Quiroga,
14:50 and here Rodriguez wants to get that back.
14:53 He's got the heart of a Mexican,
14:54 he's coming out here in round four
14:55 looking to get that back.
14:57 - And the way these two fighters are going,
14:58 I don't think it's going to slow down any time soon.
15:01 Both of these guys are very tough.
15:03 Strong iron wills as well.
15:06 Not afraid to just let those hands go in exchange
15:09 in the middle of the ring.
15:10 There's the right hand from Quiroga
15:12 and then the counter combination by Rodriguez.
15:15 - And just so evenly matched.
15:17 I mean, they come right back, they answer everything.
15:19 Oh, big left hook again upstairs from Quiroga.
15:23 Oh, a little behind the back action there, kidney shot.
15:26 - Those kidney shots placed well, a little zared.
15:31 - Been hit with a few of those in my day.
15:32 They're not fun.
15:33 - Yeah.
15:34 - You feel them the next day a lot.
15:37 - The next day, oh, okay.
15:38 - Next day a lot.
15:40 - It's the second time there we see Quiroga
15:42 kind of gesture to the back there of the kidney.
15:44 - A little inside boxing here.
15:46 I actually got hit with a punch like that in sparring,
15:48 it broke my rib.
15:49 - Oh!
15:50 - It actually dislodged it from the front
15:52 because it hit me in the back of the head.
15:53 - Oh, that's a good one.
15:54 - That's a good one.
15:55 - That's a good one.
15:56 - It actually dislocated it from the front
15:56 because it hit me in the backside.
15:58 - Oh, right hand.
15:59 - Oh, good shot there from Rodriguez.
16:03 - That certainly wobbled Quiroga.
16:04 Oh, but Quiroga responding.
16:06 - Like I just said a few moments ago,
16:08 these guys, one gets an advantage
16:11 and his opponent comes immediately back.
16:14 Very evenly matched fight here.
16:17 No one wants to give an inch.
16:19 - Two fantastic competitors here
16:22 between Quiroga and Rodriguez.
16:26 - George, I think you're right.
16:27 You surmised early on based on their records
16:29 that Quiroga was going to be the better boxer
16:33 and Rodriguez the puncher.
16:35 It certainly seems that way.
16:37 A lot of pressure being put on by Rodriguez here.
16:40 - Ooh!
16:41 - Good combination there by Quiroga.
16:45 It seems like every time Quiroga responds
16:47 with a good combination,
16:48 Rodriguez comes back immediately firing back.
16:53 - This has been a treat of a fight so far
16:55 as we are about to end of the fourth
16:57 going into the fifth round.
16:59 Good stuff here in Cordoba.
17:03 Earlier today here on ProBoxTV.com,
17:06 we had Zakari Kanemansia
17:08 with a spectacular fifth round knockout
17:12 of Alexis Rearte
17:14 to improve to 16 wins, two losses, and 12 by knockout.
17:19 And right now,
17:21 in this fight between Quiroga and Rodriguez,
17:24 I would say right now after four rounds,
17:26 maybe Quiroga has a slight--
17:27 Well, he has an advantage
17:28 because he has the knockdown in the third.
17:30 - I had him up anyway.
17:31 - Yeah?
17:32 - Yeah, I think he's been the busier of the two.
17:33 I like his boxing, like I said.
17:35 His ability to get inside, get his combinations off,
17:39 and then exit with his hands up and his defense on
17:42 has been very impressive so far.
17:43 Rodriguez has been coming on the last two rounds.
17:46 Actually, it started once he got dropped.
17:47 He had a really good round after he got up,
17:50 and then the following round, round four,
17:51 he looked really good.
17:52 So that was the first round that I actually gave Rodriguez.
17:54 But no, we've got a tight fight here,
17:56 but I do have Quiroga up a little bit.
17:58 - And with Rodriguez being the road opponent,
18:01 we'll put it that way,
18:03 I don't know if he can--
18:05 I don't want to say trust,

36:51 Oh, good left hook upstairs.
36:53 And Rodriguez was having a good round,
36:55 and here comes Quiroga at the last minute
36:57 trying to steal the round.
37:00 >> And it looks like he might just have done it there,
37:03 depending on what happens on these last 35 seconds here.
37:06 >> I still got Rodriguez up a little bit in this round,
37:09 but we'll see what happens in these last 30.
37:12 >> It's the ninth round out of a scheduled 10.
37:14 WBA-- >> Ooh.
37:15 >> --Latino Flyweight title on the line.
37:16 Good shot there by-- >> And a stab jab.
37:18 >> Yeah. >> And a jab upstairs.
37:21 >> See, you guys always talk about mixing the levels there.
37:24 That's what Quiroga's doing.
37:25 >> He's doing it beautifully.
37:26 He's got that upper body rhythm.
37:27 He keeps it moving.
37:28 Just like I said, that consistency is there.
37:30 He lets those hands go.
37:31 He varies the punches quite a bit,
37:33 changes levels, and that left hook
37:35 has been money all night long.
37:37 >> See, I listen to you and Pauly when you're calling fights
37:39 and you're mixing levels. >> I can tell. I can tell.
37:41 >> Tenth-- ninth round here for Quiroga and Rodriguez.
37:46 >> I felt bad for Rodriguez in that round.
37:48 He had a really good round, and Quiroga stole it in my book.
37:51 I mean, that last minute of the round,
37:52 he was putting on a clinic.
37:55 There we see more combination punches,
37:56 and that's the difference.
37:57 I talked about how Quiroga is able to escape
37:59 without getting hit.
38:00 Rodriguez, the exact opposite.
38:02 That's exactly when Quiroga takes advantage of Rodriguez
38:05 is after he throws his combinations,
38:07 he pulls out straight, he gets a little lax.
38:09 You had mentioned his hands have come down,
38:10 and Quiroga just goes to town.
38:12 >> Is it me also, or is it seems like Rodriguez
38:15 is a little wider and wilder with his punches,
38:18 while Quiroga may be a little more compact?
38:20 >> Yeah, I mean, honestly, that's a lot of that's
38:22 Mexican style.
38:23 They throw wider shots, they're looking for power shots,
38:25 they set their feet.
38:26 But he's got a guy in front of him tonight
38:28 that is just a little too savvy, a little too slick,
38:31 and using his jabs and combinations really well.
38:34 >> And Ramon Quiroga barring a knockout.
38:37 He's on his way to victory.
38:39 We'll see what happens as Rodriguez
38:41 is showing some good power here.
38:42 Tenth and final round here in Cordoba.
38:46 WBA, Fede Latif Flyweight title on the line.
38:49 It's been a good fight with a lot of action
38:51 between Ramon Quiroga of Argentina
38:53 and the sky blue and dark blue trunks
38:56 with the red gloves and the Mexican,
38:58 Efrain Rodriguez Gonzalez
39:00 in the green trunks and black gloves.
39:02 And poor Rodriguez Gonzalez
39:04 is gonna need that knockout here to win this fight.
39:08 And he's gonna go out swinging, that's for sure.
39:11 >> George, be careful calling.
39:12 Three minutes is a long time.
39:13 A lot can happen in that three minute--
39:15 good right hand there from Quiroga.
39:16 A lot can happen in a three minute round,
39:18 and you never know.
39:19 That's boxing.
39:22 >> The beauty of the sport, right,
39:23 is that it's unpredictable like that, yep.
39:25 Well, certainly has been an entertaining fight here
39:31 in this co-main event.
39:34 On ProBoxTV.com in association with Samson Boxing,
39:37 Samson Lekovitz always puts together good shows,
39:40 especially in Latin America.
39:41 >> Look at the movement.
39:42 Look at the movement from Quiroga.
39:43 He's having fun out there, man.
39:45 He's making this look like a sparring session.
39:46 He's really just taking his time.
39:48 He feels he's ahead.
39:49 He's not quite able to lift up there,
39:50 but for the most part, I mean, even in this tenth round,
39:52 he's still boxing sweet.
39:54 He's moving, he's moving his head,
39:55 he's changing levels, letting his hands go,
39:57 making his man miss.
40:00 Still throwing combinations.
40:03 >> That's smart there.
40:04 Throw the combo, grab,
40:06 maybe take a little bit of a breather,
40:08 and then break and--
40:09 >> If you didn't watch this fight at all
40:11 and you tuned in on this tenth round
40:12 and you watched these two guys,
40:14 you would have the idea that Quiroga's winning this fight,
40:17 just based on body language, mannerisms.
40:22 >> Certainly has been a strong showing for Ramon Quiroga.
40:25 You know what, even Ifedre Rodriguez,
40:28 I think he's acquitted himself very well here,
40:30 showing some promise.
40:32 >> In only his eighth pro fight,
40:34 never been past four.
40:36 To go ten here in a night like this,
40:38 yeah, I tip my hat to him, but, I mean,
40:41 barring some really poor judging, in my opinion,
40:44 I think he's coming out of here with his first loss.
40:46 >> Yeah, less than a minute remaining here
40:48 in the tenth round of this flyweight fight
40:52 for the WBA FedeLatin title.
40:55 >> Yeah, it just has to mean just too much sauce, man.
40:59 Quiroga's just pouring it on.
41:01 Too slick, too smart, too fit.
41:04 Just the conditioning.
41:07 >> You can see that Rodriguez,
41:09 little bit of blood over the eyes,
41:10 and Quiroga unmarked at all on his face there.
41:15 >> Less than 30 seconds.
41:17 >> That speaks to the defense and the experience.
41:19 He knows where to put his head on the inside
41:20 so he don't clash heads together.
41:22 He doesn't get hit on the way in or the way out.
41:24 There you see that head movement again.
41:25 Changes levels beautifully, mixes things up.
41:30 >> Seems like-- >> Ooh!
41:31 >> That left hand, that hook.
41:33 >> That was the punch I've been saying, that's the one.
41:36 Let's see if Rodriguez can close.
41:39 >> On the ropes is Quiroga.
41:40 >> Not a lot of time left.
41:41 >> Ah, yep. >> Yep, and the bell ends.
41:44 >> And look at Quiroga hugging him like, "Oof."
41:46 That was close.
41:48 >> "Oh, I'm glad I don't have to take any more of those shots."
41:51 >> Got to the end.
41:52 >> Standing ovation from some of the people in the crowd,
41:56 and I think they both--
41:57 the crowd appreciates the effort of Quiroga and Rodriguez.
42:02 Furious finish to this fight.
42:04 >> This is why I love flyweights, man.
42:05 They don't get a lot of love in this country,
42:07 but they always put on a show.
42:09 Beautiful stuff from Quiroga.
42:11 I was very impressed with his boxing ability tonight,
42:13 his combination punching.
42:14 And Rodriguez, man, his doggedness,
42:15 coming forward, throwing big shots.
42:17 He showed that power.
42:18 Was coming on late.
42:19 You know, he's still trying.
42:20 He never got the fight beaten out of him.
42:23 But in terms of what I like, what I saw,
42:25 I got Quiroga winning this fight.
42:28 >> Quiroga--
42:30 >> Look how clean his face is.
42:31 >> He's clean-- yep.
42:33 Take a look at the best action from the affair
42:36 between Ramon Quiroga and the Mexican Efrain Rodriguez.
42:39 There was the knockdown in the third
42:41 with that left hook flooring Rodriguez.
42:45 >> Yeah, we had to skip right to that for the replays
42:47 because pretty much every round was a highlight.
42:49 These guys were going back and forth, especially early on.
42:52 It was very highly contested early on.
42:54 I like the boxing ability of Quiroga.
42:55 I like the power punching style of Rodriguez.
42:58 That knockdown, though, that was a big one.
43:00 Beautiful counter right hand there from Rodriguez.
43:02 You saw him back Quiroga up and try to let those hands go.
43:05 But then back comes Quiroga.
43:07 These guys all night long, once one guy got a little bit ahead,
43:10 the other guy came back immediately.
43:11 Great action.
43:12 >> Yeah, fourth round much the same.
43:14 Every time one fighter seemed to be making progress there,
43:17 the other one would come forward and then they would counter
43:19 and kind of neutralize each other there.
43:21 That's what you like to see.
43:23 Good balance fight there.
43:24 The combination by Quiroga, I think,
43:25 were really, really effective in this fight.
43:27 >> Absolutely.
43:29 The two rounds that I thought that Rodriguez boxed the best
43:31 were actually the round where he got knocked down in the third
43:33 and then the fourth.
43:34 The fourth I thought was his strongest showing.
43:36 That was one of the rounds that I gave him on my scorecard.
43:38 But then you saw in those middle rounds,
43:39 Quiroga started to have an effect,
43:41 especially with the left hook.
43:42 He was able to hurt Rodriguez a few times.
43:44 And pinning him down with combinations like that,
43:47 just, I mean, when you throw five, six, seven punches
43:49 and four, five, six of them land,
43:51 it's really hard not to steal that round.
43:53 >> You think maybe Quiroga, when he had Rodriguez in trouble
43:56 and he was connecting on four or five,
43:58 maybe should he just kept going, maybe go for the knockout?
43:59 Or is that smart? >> I don't think so.
44:01 I think he felt the power of Rodriguez.
44:02 You know, he's got seven KOs in those seven fights,
44:04 regardless of who he fought.
44:05 KOs are KOs.
44:07 And I think he felt the power.
44:08 We could see he was heavy-handed.
44:10 There was danger in those shots.
44:12 And Quiroga was just doing what he was doing, man.
44:13 He's a rhythm fighter, just like I was when I was fighting.
44:16 I had a very similar mindset and style to Quiroga.
44:20 I threw a lot of combinations and had a great conditioning.
44:23 Here we see finishing strong, even in the 10th round.
44:25 Quiroga was really pouring it on.
44:28 >> Quiroga looks like he could have gone 12 or 15.
44:30 I mean, with his conditioning there.
44:32 >> Absolutely. His conditioning and his experience
44:33 and how relaxed he fought all night long.
44:36 >> Very impressive from Ramon Quiroga.
44:38 And we will see if the judges think the same.
44:42 I suspect that they will, but you never know.
44:43 We will get the official decision
44:46 very shortly here in Cordoba.
44:48 Remember, this is the co-main event.
44:49 Coming up after this, move up to middleweight
44:52 in 160 pounds, 72.5 kilos.
44:55 Sebastián Papes will be taking on Diego Carmona
44:57 in another matchup of Argentine versus--
45:00 of Mexican fighters.
45:01 Here's the official decision.
45:03 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:06 >> A unanimous decision.
45:08 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:10 >> Enrique Ferrero.
45:11 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:13 >> No--
45:14 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:15 >> 99-90.
45:16 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:19 >> 96-93.
45:20 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:22 >> Carlos Villegas is--
45:24 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:25 >> 91.
45:27 The winner.
45:28 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:30 >> And points by unanimous decision.
45:33 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:36 >> The Fede Latin Flyweight Title champion.
45:40 >> [speaking Spanish]
45:42 >> The "Hormiga de Oran," the bug,
45:46 the fly of Oran, Ramón Quiroga,
45:50 wins the fight by unanimous decision.
45:52 All three judges scoring the fight in favor of Ramón Quiroga.
45:55 He improves to 6-1 with two knockouts in hands.
45:58 Efrain Rodriguez, his first loss of his career.
46:01 He is the WBA Fede Latin Champion.
