00:00 Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:04 A couple who bought a vase at a flea market for just £30 because they liked its blue
00:08 colouring were stunned to discover it was actually a rare one-of-a-kind piece.
00:14 A four-digit identification number which was carved into the base of the vase confirmed
00:18 it was actually a piece of Lott's glassware dating back more than a century.
00:23 The seller picked up the item at a flea market earlier this year because they loved its colouring
00:28 for just £30.
00:30 But after some detective work, they managed to identify the item through the ID number
00:35 and learnt it was a piece of Lott's glassware which is highly prized by collectors.
00:40 It is now expected to fetch several hundred pounds when it goes under the hammer at a
00:44 Derbyshire auction house in January.
00:48 Further details about a plan to build new homes in a North Derbyshire town have been
00:52 unfailed.
00:54 The proposal is for 21 homes on land between Wellbeck Road and Oxcroft Lane in Bolsover
00:59 and a Reserve Matters application relating to access, appearance, landscaping and scale
01:04 has now been approved by the District Council.
