Transcript
00:00 John, how about this? The Lions are about to host their very first playoff game in the history of Ford Field, a place that opened up in 2002.
00:08 What do you make of that being the case for the Lions?
00:11 Yeah, Vito, finally, I think for the Detroit Lions to play a playoff game in front of the home fans, really, it's a true home field advantage.
00:19 You see this fan base that has traveled with the team all season.
00:23 A sea of blue everywhere that the Detroit Lions have played on the road this year. Now coming back to have an opportunity to play a home playoff game,
00:32 the Rabid fans are going to pack the place, potentially against the Rams, Seahawks.
00:37 You never know who's going to be the Detroit Lions' first opponent, but know this, the fan base is going to be quite loud, very much an anticipated contest.
00:46 And Vito, the Detroit Lions have not won a playoff game since 1991. It just has the feel that this group of talent, many people have said, and many of the Lions have said,
00:57 "Look, we don't shoulder the burden of the last 30 years, but we definitely understand the meaning that winning a division, playing well, what success means to the fans of the Detroit Lions."
01:08 You look at the likes of the "Old Guard," as Dan Campbell likes to refer to them as, the Taylor Deckers, the Frank Ragnows, Tracy Walker, Jalen Reeves-Maben,
01:17 those that have been around this program for a long time, they get an opportunity to celebrate the fruits of their labor after a great regular season.
01:25 In two years, Vito, at this point in time, in the last two years, the Lions have won 20 games.
01:30 And for the fan base to celebrate the team that has given them so many good reasons to cheer and have a good time this year, it's going to be a great environment.
01:39 And I just think that for the Lions to have an opportunity to advance as far as possible in this year's postseason, the more games that they can play at home, the better it's going to suit Dan Campbell's young roster.
01:50 John, thanks for all the time.
