00:00 So before we get into those details,
00:02 we want to, of course, bring you how the preparations
00:05 are going in the Northeast.
00:06 And for more on that, we head to extreme storm chaser
00:09 Aaron Jajak in Albany, New York.
00:12 And he is keeping an eye on all the things on the ground.
00:15 And Aaron, I know you've been out there working hard,
00:18 as have some of those road crews.
00:21 - Yeah, I mentioned earlier to you guys,
00:24 I've been seeing a few road crew,
00:26 snow plows driving around.
00:28 You asked me in the last head I did with you guys,
00:30 if I noticed any pre-treatment,
00:32 that I was working my way up I-87 just a little bit ago.
00:35 And it does look like some of that pre-treatment
00:37 has started here in the Albany, New York area,
00:40 I-87 corridor here in the Hudson Valley.
00:43 And if you see back behind me,
00:44 this is a massive piece of machinery here for moving snow.
00:49 They've strapped a giant snow plow
00:51 to the front of this equipment.
00:53 And this is for clearing out a parking lot here.
00:55 This is the target parking lot.
00:56 You get six inches of snow here
00:58 across a huge parking lot like this.
01:00 And this is gonna turn into massive piles of snow
01:03 when this machinery comes through,
01:04 Saturday, probably Sunday morning
01:06 after the storm moves through,
01:08 moving all that snow out of these parking spots.
01:10 So they are preparing here in Albany.
01:13 I've been seeing people, lots of people shopping,
01:15 filling up their grocery carts with food, supplies,
01:18 people buying shovels.
01:19 So a big storm coming here starting tomorrow night.
01:22 - And you are expecting to work your way up
01:26 and along the Interstate 87 corridor.
01:28 So where are you targeting for the upcoming hours quickly?
01:32 - So it looks like tomorrow,
01:35 I'll likely work my way south towards the Catskills.
01:38 That's the Catskills area.
01:39 It does look like it'll be that bullseye here
01:41 in the Hudson Valley for the most snow
01:42 up in those higher elevations.
01:44 But of course I will be up and down I-87 tomorrow.
01:47 Albany is a big population.
01:49 This is the capital of New York.
01:50 So lots of people here,
01:51 lots of impact gonna happen here tomorrow night into Sunday.
01:56 - All right, thank you, Erin, for that update.
01:57 And we'll be checking in with you throughout the weekend
02:00 to get the latest there from New York State.
