Previewing Detroit Lions Week 18 NFL matchup against Minnesota Vikings.
Transcript
00:00 The end of the regular season is upon us and the Detroit Lions look to face off in a rematch against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
00:07 Here today to break down the game and give his analysis is SIL Lions' John McGrid.
00:12 John, give me your thoughts on the game and how the Lions will fare against Minnesota this weekend.
00:17 Yeah, Cameron, I think it's going to be a very loud and raucous Ford Field.
00:23 Seeing the new NFC North division champion banner, the banner raising ceremony that's going to take place.
00:30 I think the fan base wants to celebrate their 11-win team potentially on the verge of winning 12 games.
00:36 And I think the Minnesota Vikings are in for it.
00:39 You've got to look at this situation.
00:41 You have an angry Detroit Lions football team all week stewing on people talking about blown plays,
00:47 people talking about Dan Campbell's call, decision making, his decision to go for the two-point try on the seven-yard line.
00:55 You got criticisms from the officials regarding how they've lined up and trying to maybe be deceitful.
01:02 So the Detroit Lions, I believe, are an angry bunch.
01:05 I think that they've been trying their hardest to put what happened in Dallas behind them, but it's quite difficult.
01:11 So you know who's going to take the brunt of their anger?
01:15 The Minnesota Vikings.
01:16 I think the Lions are going to dominate.
01:18 They're going to look to play well and potentially play at their full capacity.
01:22 Why?
01:23 If they get out to a big three, four touchdown lead by halftime or the end of the third quarter, maybe some starters are going to rest.
01:29 You look at the Vikings, I think Justin Jefferson obviously is the key.
01:33 If you can limit him, you're not going to stop him, but if you can limit him from, you know, having a big day,
01:38 not getting into the end zone, making the key tackles and limiting his yards after the catch, I think you've got a good chance.
01:44 As Jordan Addison has been battling an injury, you realize Nick Mullins, you have tape on him after a solid performance where you intercepted him multiple times.
01:53 And I think that the potential return of a Lee McNeil and C.D. Deuce in a limited role, I think also helps this football team.
02:01 I just see a motivated Detroit Lions football team that are going to want to run the football, play at a high level.
02:07 And Cameron, guess what?
02:09 Amonra Saint Brown should also be quite frustrated and angry.
02:12 So I think the combination of everything we just discussed bodes very well for the Detroit Lions to win this game by more than double digits.
02:21 I think it's going to be a two touchdown game, and I would be surprised if it was even competitive.
02:25 John, I think the Lions will run away with this one, too. Thanks for all the insight.
