00:02 I've been here, and you go back to my first job in the NFL.
00:11 I mean, my first year in the NFL,
00:14 we were five and 11 at St. Louis Rams.
00:16 Second year, we were four and 12.
00:18 And then the third year, we ended up going 16 and three
00:20 and winning the Super Bowl.
00:22 And I remember many of those days,
00:24 having conversations with John Shaw, our president,
00:26 Jay Zigmont, our executive vice president,
00:29 and Coach Vermeule, is that the questions
00:32 that I would ask them of making sure,
00:34 the worst thing you can do on an organization
00:36 that is making progress is to turn around too quickly.
00:41 And you have to evaluate honestly.
00:44 And so I just feel here, with the people that we have
00:47 in this building, the changes that we've started
00:50 to make today, the people that we will hire,
00:53 the core group of players that we have,
00:56 the draft capital that we have,
00:59 the salary cap situation that we're in,
01:02 the free agents, I mean, just look what is accomplished.
01:05 I firmly believe, go back 12 months ago
01:08 and look at the progress that we've made.
01:10 And so once you feel like, yes,
01:13 you're not where you wanna be,
01:15 we're not where we're going to be,
01:16 but we're pointed in the right direction,
01:18 the key is having the right places.
01:20 I mean, the right people in the right places,
01:22 doing the right things at the right time
01:23 for the right reasons.
01:25 And that's what I'm focused on.
01:26 So this is reminiscent of the process that we went through
01:29 in St. Louis, it's reminiscent of the process
01:32 we went through in Minnesota.
01:33 Having rookies play, that's one of the things
01:36 that impressed me about Matt.
01:37 Many coaches will not play rookies
01:39 or they're shy away from it,
01:41 but having those rookies play,
01:43 you saw it toward the end of the year,
01:44 that is gonna play major dividends,
01:46 not only next year, but also in 2020.
01:47 And it's not that we become where we relax,
01:50 you know, that we're focused on.
01:51 We wanna be diligent, we're type A individuals,
01:54 we wanna win, we're impatiently patient,
01:58 but we also understand the importance to build the champion.
02:01 It does take some time.
02:04 I'm not saying a lot of time,
02:05 but I strongly believe that this third year going into,
02:09 this third year is gonna be a critical time
02:11 for us to take a major jump.
