00:14 Dayim's claim is part of a supporting affidavit

00:16 for his judicial review application

00:18 to challenge the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's probe

00:21 into him and his family.

00:23 Dayim said he had to liquidate his assets

00:24 and quit the business world when he entered politics.

00:27 He said if he did not join politics,

00:29 he would be worth a lot more

00:30 as he was already a successful and wealthy businessman.

00:34 In the affidavit,

00:34 Dayim also questioned the purpose of the investigation,

00:37 saying MACC refused to disclose

00:39 the nature of his investigation into him and his family.

00:42 He said he only knew from news reports

00:43 that the probe was linked to the leaked Pandora Papers.

00:46 The Pandora Papers refer to a leak of millions of documents

00:49 that revealed details of offshore accounts

00:51 allegedly held by present and past presidents,

00:54 prime ministers and billionaires.

00:56 Dayim was among the Malaysians named in the Pandora Papers.

00:59 Others include Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zaid Hamidi,

01:02 Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz

01:05 and PKR's selling MP William Leong.
