00:09 I love the Ballarat region because it's where I married and I settled.
00:13 I live here with my husband and our four children.
00:16 We have an absolutely fantastic local school and we're incredibly lucky that we can live on a commercial farm
00:22 just a spitting distance from a major regional centre.
00:25 So Ballarat has anything anyone could want. It's got a really vibrant community and fantastic resources.

00:35 I've been really amazed by the level of urban growth in Ballarat.
00:39 So I drive through Miners Rest every day to get to Ballarat.
00:43 When I first married, that whole estate just next to MacArthur Park there was beech trees
00:48 and that was how my mother-in-law used to know that autumn was coming when those trees turned.
00:52 To continue it was really the change of the season and that's all housing estate now.
00:56 It's really rapid, rapid expansion and growth.

01:04 I'm hoping that Ballarat continues to grow in its importance.
01:08 I think it's an incredibly rich and important region both for food and fibre production
01:14 but also for education and other community resources.
01:18 The local art scene is fantastic and I'm really hoping we continue to see Ballarat shine as a real heart in Victoria.
