00:05 For 38-year-old primary school teacher, Kadeh Reshan Murthy,
00:08 the answer lies in one simple principle--

00:13 After scoring 7D for his Bahasa Malaysia SPM examination
00:17 in 2002, Kadeh Reshan retook the paper seven times
00:21 before setting out to achieve his dream of becoming a teacher.

00:33 The path ahead was a long and arduous one.
00:36 To make ends meet, he operated a modest cafeteria
00:40 at a teaching institute and devoured Bahasa Melayu
00:43 articles and magazines whenever he could.

01:02 After finally passing the Bahasa Melayu paper
01:05 with a good grade, Kadeh Reshan worked as a temporary teacher
01:08 for three years before pursuing his studies
01:11 at the Raja Malewa Institut Pendidikan Guru campus
01:14 in Surinban, where he earned a first-class bachelor's
01:17 degree in physical education at the age of 32.
01:22 Having been assigned to schools like SK Bukit Vidan and SK
01:25 Kampong Awar in the deep interior of Pahang,
01:28 Kadeh Reshan's impact extends far beyond textbooks.
01:32 His innovative approach in rural classrooms
01:35 has not only garnered awards but also reinforced the notion
01:39 that education transcends boundaries.
01:42 And today, at SK Mahmood in Rawup, his journey continues.

01:57 While Kadeh Reshan earned a degree in physical education,
02:00 he also teaches Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Tamil,
02:03 and mathematics.
02:04 A teaching kit he designed, called Lapan Konstrak Kati,
02:08 familiarizes students with the alphabet, syllables, and words.
02:12 It involves two phases--
02:14 reading and games.
02:16 This teaching method has helped make
02:17 learning fun for the students.

02:22 Recently, Kadeh Reshan was named one of the five finalists
02:26 in the Pahang School of Education's
02:27 "School of Education" competition.
02:29 The competition was held in Pahang,
02:31 and Kadeh Reshan was one of the finalists.

03:03 Kadeh Reshan, who took a sabbatical
03:05 to pursue his doctorate in sports science,
03:08 coaches his former colleagues at SK Mahmood.
03:11 He also motivates students who are repeating
03:13 their SVM examinations by helping them set goals
03:17 and pushing them to do better.
