00:04 Often she would find herself wedged in the most precarious positions.
00:07 Oh my goodness, Miss Violet.
00:10 So we often had to come and rescue her.
00:12 Where you going, Violet?
00:14 Every three or four minutes, Miss Violet's gone again.
00:17 Miss Violet definitely stood out from the rest of the puppies.
00:23 Miss Violet, along with seven other puppies,
00:28 and their mother, Shadow, were dumped at the local pound.
00:31 So they asked me if we would look after them.
00:34 She would spin around in circles, trying to walk in a straight line.
00:42 Miss Violet!
00:44 We very quickly worked out that she has very, very poor vision,
00:47 that she's completely deaf,
00:49 and had an apparent neurological issue as well.

00:54 We realised that she needed a lot of extra special care and attention.
00:59 I'm going to look after her.

01:03 Hi, beautiful girl.
01:05 We trained her to learn to trust us and to follow us.
01:09 And was such a determined little puppy.
01:13 By recognising that we're all out to protect her,
01:16 she very quickly just came and followed blindly whenever we would give her signals.

01:22 Come on, darling. Miss Violet, there we go.
01:25 That gave her a lot of confidence.

01:29 That's it. Come on. Come on.
01:31 When it came time to learn to swim,
01:34 she just would never take a backwards step.
01:37 Well done! Yay!
01:40 As soon as she felt the water on her front feet,
01:43 she would just continue going, no matter how treacherous the waters were.
01:47 She just had the most determined personality
01:51 to have so much fun and enjoy life.
01:54 She just tried so hard and developed that mental strength and coordination
01:59 that she would sleep a lot more frequent than the rest of her litter.

02:05 Anytime, middle of the sun, on the side of the driveway,
02:08 midway through a run with the dogs,
02:11 would just stop, collapse, fall asleep, and then five minutes later,
02:14 jump up, raring to go and have no idea where she is.
02:17 It was hilarious.
02:19 Good girl, good girl.
02:23 With all the extra love and care that Miss Violet was getting,
02:27 she began to really improve.
02:30 She was no longer scared.
02:32 She no longer got lost and wandered off,
02:34 and she could keep up with her pack.
02:37 She is definitely one of our top three fastest dogs on the farm.
02:43 Do you think she's just like every other dog?
02:46 She doesn't see herself any differently.
02:49 She has exceeded all expectations.
02:53 It became quite obvious that the best place for Miss Violet
02:58 was going to be here at the farm.
