Everyone thought she was a puppy... Glo's foster moms told us all about her amazing glow-up and the surprise they got at her first vet appointment!

00:00I was told to be prepared when I saw her because she was in pretty rough shape.
00:07I was given the impression that this was a nine to ten week old puppy.
00:11She was just so sweet but I could tell she was in a lot of pain.
00:17She just had the sweetest eyes. It's almost like piercing into your soul when you're looking at her.
00:23I decided to co-foster Glow with my good friend Ronnie.

00:35The first time I met Glow was a handful of days after Emily took her in.

00:42One of our biggest goals with Glow when we took her in was to help her skin heal.
00:48She came to us crusty and bald and looking a little bit like a worm
00:52and we wanted to help her have the most amazing glow up ever.
00:56So that involved baths multiple times a week.

01:05She just kind of accepted that okay these people are here to help me
01:09and she kind of just would look up at us occasionally
01:12almost like she was saying thank you for helping me. It was really sweet.

01:19I took her to the vet for her initial wellness exam.
01:22This is an adult dog.
01:25She's got all her adult teeth.
01:27It was really surprising to hear that she wasn't a puppy because she looked just like one.

01:36And then when you start thinking about it more,
01:39it's a little more sad knowing that she may have been feeling sick
01:42or going through this longer than we expected.
01:44Having Glow be in two different home environments,
01:47I think wound up being a positive thing for her
01:49and really helping her adapt to any environment.

02:02She's beautiful as it is,
02:04but to see her be healthy and happy and no longer itchy anymore was really amazing.
02:15After about six weeks in our care,
02:17we knew it was time to start thinking about a future family for Glow.
02:22The couple we ended up selecting loves her so much
02:25and she's going to have the best life with them.
02:31One of the most rewarding things about fostering a dog with a skin condition
02:35is that their transformation is so physical.
02:37I think Glow was special because despite what was going on with her,
02:41she was still happy and fun from the get-go.
02:44She was just still this wiggly, happy little creature
02:47and kind of nothing could stop her from enjoying her life.
