00:00 The former Minister of Finance, Daim Zainuddin, will be sued in the Kuala Lumpur Session Court this week.

00:09 In a statement, Daim said his lawyer was informed that he would be sued on January 29

00:16 for a crime under Section 36, Section 2 of the 2009 SPRM, i.e. asset disclosure.

00:24 Daim also said that the Malaysian Corruption Prevention Agency took the statement yesterday.

00:29 Last Thursday, SPRM Commissioner-General Azam Baki announced that Daim is likely to be sued

00:36 in court next week after Daim was allowed to leave the hospital that day, citing his lawyer.

00:42 On January 24, Azam said that the SPRM was given the authority by the State Prosecutor's Office to sue Daim,

00:50 even though he was detained because he was admitted to the hospital.

00:54 The SPRM said the investigation into Daim began in February 2023 based on information from Pandora's paper

01:02 that linked the alleged perpetrator to the overseas corruption protection area.
