00:00 Are JetBlue's Mint Class seats worth the upgrade?
00:02 Here's what I found out.
00:03 I was one of the first passengers who flew in Mint Business Class on JetBlue's inaugural
00:07 flight from New York to Paris last month.
00:09 The 22 private, live-flat Mint Suites offer maximum privacy thanks to their diagonal setup,
00:15 tall barriers, and sliding doors.
00:17 Each seat came with slippers and a small amenity kit, which included an eye mask, a toothbrush,
00:22 a small tube of toothpaste, and earplugs.
00:24 For entertainment, there's a large 17-inch TV loaded with new movies, noise-isolating
00:29 headphones, and free Wi-Fi.
00:31 Dinner and breakfast are both ordered via the seat back screen.
00:34 You get to choose three small plates plus dessert for dinner, and two items plus a croissant
00:38 for breakfast.
00:39 There's also a full bar available in Mint.
00:41 I had the Venetian Spritz.
00:43 Since this was an eight-hour red eye, I was so happy the seat turned into a live-flat
00:47 bed.
00:48 At 5'4", I had just enough space when I was fully stretched out, but taller passengers
00:52 might have to curl up to fit.
00:54 The Mint cabin comes with two bathrooms that are large and have a motion sensor on the
00:58 flusher so you don't have to touch it.
01:00 The only con I had with these seats was that I had to crane my neck to look through the
01:03 windows.
01:04 Thankfully, most of this flight to Paris is at night, so there's not much to look at
01:08 anyway.
01:09 A recent search found the lowest Mint fares on this route were about $2,600 this winter.
01:14 That's at least $300 cheaper than business class fares on United, Delta, and American,
01:19 so it's definitely worth flying business to Europe on JetBlue.
