00:03 The Away Bigger Carry-On has been my go-to bag

00:06 for the last five years.

00:07 Here's my full review.

00:09 I chose the Bigger Carry-On,

00:15 which maxes out the limits of what a carry-on bag can be,

00:19 but at 7.4 pounds, it doesn't weigh me down.

00:22 Though it's slightly larger

00:23 than domestic carrier carry-on restrictions,

00:26 it fits in the overhead bins

00:27 of most planes in the United States,

00:30 save for a few smaller regional jets.

00:32 However, this bag is much larger

00:34 than many international carriers allow,

00:37 so you might want to size down to the standard Away carry-on.

00:41 Inside, the bag has storage for everything I need

00:44 for most week-long trips.

00:46 The bag unzips like a traditional clamshell suitcase

00:49 and has two larger compartments on each side.

00:52 The left side has a mesh zippered closure

00:55 to keep loose items like toiletry bags and shoes

00:57 secured when you close the bag.

01:00 The right side, where I keep my clothes,

01:02 is secured with a mesh compression system

01:04 that packs down bulky items.

01:07 Inside a small zippered compartment,

01:08 there's also a laundry bag

01:10 for keeping your clothes separate during your trip.

01:12 The polycarbonate exterior is available

01:16 in a rainbow of matte finish colors,

01:18 including blush, black, green, and several shades of blue.

01:23 Away is also known for launching seasonal

01:25 and limited edition collections,

01:27 so it'll be rare to have anyone confuse your bag for theirs.

01:31 If you're not going to clean your bag after each trip,

01:34 I'd avoid the lighter colors,

01:35 since dirt does show up easily on these.

01:38 The bag comes with a TSA-approved combination lock,

01:41 as well as YKK zippers and Hinemoto wheels,

01:44 arguably the highest quality wheels in the luggage industry,

01:48 and made with ball bearings to ensure an ultra-smooth ride.

01:52 The handle can be extended to multiple heights

01:55 and comes in and out smoothly without getting jammed.

01:58 Away's limited lifetime warranty is also legitimate.

02:02 After getting shoved into the bottom of a stack of suitcases

02:05 in a car to the airport,

02:06 my bag developed a three-inch crack in one corner,

02:09 which would have been a major con.

02:11 However, Away's customer service team

02:13 responded to my email within the hour

02:15 and had my replacement carry-on shipped out within a week,

02:18 free of charge.

02:21 Although my bag did crack

02:22 after several years of frequent use,

02:25 Away's lifetime warranty is legit,

02:27 and its customer service team is so efficient

02:29 that I'm glad I invested my money in this product.

02:32 And at under $300, it's a great deal

02:35 compared to other brands that offer similar level quality

02:38 in their hard-shell spinner bags.
