00:07 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the funniest times
00:12 Bill Hader made somebody else break character on this sketch comedy show.
00:16 The light was just lighting up for me.
00:21 [Laughter]
00:24 Number 10. Weekend update. Stefan's farewell.
00:28 Who knew that a character send-off would be so emotional?
00:31 I've met someone else, and he's a lot like you, except he likes me for me, and we are getting married.
00:38 Bye, Seth Meyers.
00:40 Well...
00:41 The original ending to Stefan's arc is a dramatic conclusion for a beloved character.
00:46 It's also a chance for Weekend Update host Seth Meyers and Bill Hader's character to finally come together as a couple.
00:53 [Screams]
01:01 Get ready for Anderson Cooper 360.
01:04 After a slew of quirky cameos from the likes of Anderson Cooper, the skit leads towards a happy ending for the duo.
01:10 The send-off ends in the studio as Hader and Meyers get choked up.
01:14 I love you, Stefan. I love you so much. For Weekend Update, we are Seth and Stefan Meyers. Goodnight.
01:21 It's one of the few times that they both break character for the sketch, but this time it's because they're bringing real emotions with them to the segment.
01:29 Number 9. Weekend Update. James Carville on gun control.
01:33 Turning into the political strategist, Bill Hader transforms James Carville into a cartoonish guest on Weekend Update.
01:40 The character makes fun of his own appearance and even throws in some extra mannerisms for good measure.
01:45 I mean, if this guy can walk out of a gun store without answering some questions, something has gone wrong.
01:52 I mean, they made me answer five questions at the deli.
01:57 It's fun to watch, but really hard to keep a straight face during the craziest moments.
02:01 Seth Meyers easily breaks multiple times trying to keep Carville on track.
02:06 And don't get me wrong, Seth. I like ghosts.
02:09 You do? You like ghosts?
02:11 Yeah. My Grammy Carville is a ghost who never leaves my side. Ain't that right, Grammy?
02:17 Hader takes the role even further as he uses his surroundings and even brushes up against his co-star.
02:23 Naturally, this gets Meyers giggling again in a great showcase for a hilarious performance.
02:28 And I'd sneak in.
02:29 Now, how would you sneak in?
02:30 Oh, I'd have Grammy Carville go through the mail slot and unlock the door from the other side.
02:35 She's a ghost.
02:37 Number eight, weekend update, Seth's farewell.
02:41 As if to return the favor of sending Stefon off in style, Bill Hader came back in character to help celebrate Seth Meyers' final weekend update appearance.
02:50 Couple friends want to stop by and say something.
02:53 The entire segment is filled with laughs, tears, and respect as multiple people show up to honor the longtime host.
03:03 Hader, as Stefon, gets perhaps the largest reaction as everyone tries not to cry.
03:08 You're like the sting of SNL.
03:10 Wait, why am I like the sting of SNL?
03:13 Because it takes you 12 years to finish.
03:16 With the likes of Cecily Strong and Amy Poehler there to help, Hader gives his friend one last salute in the Stefon role.
03:25 It's a moment that's less about laughs and more about the raw emotion of the scene.
03:30 Unlike a regular cable box, it goes down all the time.
03:34 Don't step on it.
03:36 Number seven, kissing family, Brecken brings his boyfriend home.
03:42 For anyone that knows about this family, they'll likely remember how affectionate they are.
03:46 This sketch is no different as a reunion prompts lots of kisses and other ridiculous behavior.
03:51 Hey, pick on someone your own size.
03:54 Get over here.
03:57 Mmm.
03:59 Fred Armisen's character tries to make a speech but accidentally hits his scene partner, Bill Hader, with his hand.
04:06 The mistake and Hader's reaction get Armisen to giggle as he tries to finish his monologue.
04:11 Loving everyone in the world.
04:13 Right.
04:14 Okay?
04:15 Right.
04:16 And that's important.
04:18 Totally important.
04:19 With the laughter starting, it's almost impossible to recover for the remainder of the sketch.
04:23 The last string of kisses make the co-stars laugh again as they come face to face once more.
04:28 Number six, weekend update, Stefan on St. Patrick's Day.
04:39 On certain occasions, Bill Hader has returned to host SNL and reprised his role as Stefan.
04:45 This also means that he has new weekend update presenters to work alongside.
04:49 Connor, Percy, it's nice to be here.
04:53 Thank you, Stefan.
04:54 For this version of the skit, the crazy correspondent bounces jokes off Michael Chey and Colin Jost, roasting the two with off-color lines.
05:02 The character makes them laugh with his absurd humor.
05:05 Moonlight, La La Land.
05:11 Hader proves that he can also work with anyone while in the classic wardrobe and haircut.
05:16 Making his co-stars chuckle at his odd club details, the comedian never ceases to make anyone around him happier.
05:22 Wait, isn't a closer look Seth's thing?
05:25 Oh, Seth and I are versatile.
05:28 Some nights I do it and he's under the desk.
05:31 It's Stefan, everyone!
05:33 Number five, Hollywood Dish with Scarlett Johansson.
05:36 Making fun of press junkets, Hollywood Dish puts Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig together as a pair of eager journalists.
05:43 They question Scarlett Johansson with a number of softball questions until they try to get more juicy details out of her.
05:48 It was magical, I want to do it all over again, you know?
05:51 I'm sorry, is there something wrong?
05:55 Oh, no, no, no, you're doing fine, we just don't want to ruin your audio.
05:58 Yeah, yeah, we can't make sounds when you talk.
06:00 With each question, the duo's reaction also becomes more and more crazy.
06:04 This prompts Hader to do a spit-take directly into Wiig's face.
06:08 Naturally, this breaks her up before she has to deliver her next line.
06:12 I just don't watch a lot of reality television.
06:18 There's also a bowl on her head that makes it even harder for the comedian to keep her cool.
06:28 Considering how messy this scene gets, it's not difficult to imagine that even a veteran would break under the circumstances.
06:34 You have great skin.
06:40 What is your secret?
06:42 This might be the most famous train wreck from Bill Hader's time on the show.
06:51 Red wine, and you know what the label say?
06:55 The American Embassy?
06:56 Yeah, yeah, but I'm going to stay. You got the same thing?
06:59 Yeah, I got the same thing from him.
07:01 Never making it to air, this dress rehearsal performance is a beautiful encapsulation of his chemistry with Fred Armisen.
07:08 They both play doorman with outrageous accents that love to chat up the residents.
07:12 When Armisen tries to tell a story, he starts to break down with laughter.
07:17 The light was just lighting up.
07:24 So Santa Claus was using his brain. You like that story?
07:28 This quickly derails the sketch and keeps both performers chuckling for most of the run time.
07:34 Hader doesn't fare well with his own Christmas tale either, almost breaking Vanessa Bayer along with his other scene partners.
07:41 Even if there aren't a ton of jokes, there's definitely a wild energy that's contagious enough to get both guys to crack up.
07:47 The kids, they come out into the sun and Frosty's like, "Wait, wait, wait, wait, no, no, no, I hate snow."
07:53 "Don't do this, I was good right here."
07:55 And then he melts and he dies at the end.
07:58 Number three, Girlfriend's game night.
08:00 What should have been a normal game night turns into a wonderfully awkward discussion about pregnancy.
08:05 You couldn't ask for a better premise, but somehow the writers make it even better with the inclusion of Bill Hader's character.
08:11 The older man Horace has a wheelchair and seems to run into everything.
08:15 Oh yeah.
08:17 My cars are terrible.
08:18 Oh yeah.
08:20 Oh yeah.
08:22 Making for a beautiful disaster, the chair sets up an accidental gag where Hader wheels into the table and his co-stars.
08:29 Slow, slow, Horace.
08:33 Horace.
08:35 Slow, slow, Horace.
08:38 The furniture and performers start moving across the set as they stifle their laughter, hiding behind an amused Cecily Strong.
08:46 Hader can't contain himself as he realizes his mistake.
08:49 "You should be ashamed of yourselves."
08:52 "This is hilarious."
08:54 Number two, Weekend Update, Stefon on spring break.
09:01 During his earliest years as Stefon, Bill Hader developed great chemistry with Weekend Update host Seth Meyers.
09:08 This back and forth makes for some killer reactions from both performers.
09:12 "If you liked Russell Crowe and Les Miserables, you might want to hear Jasper the Gorilla pass a kidney stone."
09:19 "This play sounds fancy."
09:23 Trying to help people on spring break, the character goes off on some typically hilarious jokes that include a reference to the film Precious.
09:30 Hader's reaction to the line is enough for him and Meyers to cover their mouths.
09:34 "Based on the novel Push by Sapphire."
09:42 Considering that the words often get changed at the last minute, it's safe to assume that this helped to cause both comedians to lose it.
09:50 It's also such a chaotic script that it's amazing they even make it through the segment without falling over laughing.
09:56 "If you go with me, you can join my five-timers club."
10:01 "What do I have to do five times?"
10:04 "For Weekend Update on the future, and this is Stefon Meyers. Goodnight!"

10:23 Number 1. The Californians - Kareena Returns
10:28 In one of the most popular segments from his tenure on SNL, Bill Hader always shines as one of the soap stars on The Californians.
10:35 He also found plenty of time to break and make others do the same.
10:39 "What I just see going on here?"
10:42 "I don't know, Stuart. I'm not confused."
10:47 Starting with a ridiculous plot, this particular version concerns Kristen Wiig's character returning and revealing her true self.
10:54 A series of crazy voices and pronunciations follow as Hader can't keep it together.
10:58 This sends his co-stars into a fit of laughter.
11:01 "What if I'm just quiet?"
11:04 "Sit, get out of here! Just get on the five, go up to Magic Mountain, get on Riddler's Revenge and never get off!"
11:14 Not only does Wiig lose it, but Fred Armisen also cracks under the absurdity of this story.
11:19 The entire scene plays out like an inside joke with friends who can't stop giggling.
11:24 "Well, I hope you're all enjoying your agave margaritas."
11:31 "I met them with dwelling oven and I bought at the farmer's market at the Grove."
