00:00 What's your answer? What got you interested in the weather? And I bet you I know what it is. It's always about where you grow up, right?
00:09 It is where I grew up. I grew up in southeastern New England, southeastern Connecticut to be specific.
00:14 And it was third grade. A gentleman who actually went on to work with us here briefly at AccuWeather for a few years, by the name of Steve Rowley.
00:24 He was my deskmate and our desks were paired together. He already had the level of the weather by then and I picked it up.
00:30 We would take maps of the U.S., tracing paper and draw weather maps. And that was my introduction to the world of weather back in third grade.
00:37 And I just followed it all the way up through high school. I decided that I wanted to go to school to study this and here I am today.
00:44 Steve Rowley is the lead meteorologist, by the way, in Charleston, South Carolina with the National Weather Service.
00:50 A great forecaster and I forgot that you two were classmates. What an interesting story.
00:56 Class of '79, Ledger High School, Ledger, Connecticut.
