00:00 It's no secret that former Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, now Washington head coach, and Micah Parsons were very close.
00:08 Between him and Dan Quinn, they had a great relationship.
00:11 What do you think is going to happen now with Parsons and what kind of impact does Quinn's departure have on him?
00:17 Certainly, the Cowboys, for the moment, have big shoes to fill.
00:22 I do think one of the first things you ask the new defensive coordinator candidate is, "What would you do with Micah?"
00:29 Yeah.
00:29 Where would you put him? How would you maximize him?
00:32 You might also ask him, "Is there any way you can get him off Twitter?"
00:35 But that's another conversation.
00:37 Yeah, that would be a bonus.
00:39 Gosh, I might.
00:40 We will be at the Super Bowl this week, so we'll get a chance to bump into Micah Parsons.
00:46 He'll be NFL honors on Thursday, and I bet you he'll be all over the place.
00:49 I bet you all the things he says will be all over the place as well.
00:52 Derron Bland, we visited with him in Orlando at the Pro Bowl.
00:55 He's one of the many Cowboy defensive guys who are like, "That's my guy. I love Dan Quinn."
01:00 Yeah.
01:01 He wasn't just a coach. He was our uncle. He was our friend. He was a mentor. He was all those things to us.
01:08 He always had the backwards hat on and a big smile and asked you how your day was.
01:12 And now the backwards hat is still being worn, but it has more of that reddish tint to it in Washington,
01:19 and he takes Joe Quinn with it as well.
01:21 Joe Witt.
01:22 Joe Witt, I'm sorry.
01:23 The one thing I do think, and this is kind of an immediate reaction, recency, "Oh no, what are you going to do?"
01:31 What you're going to do is hire his replacement.
01:33 What you're going to do is the same thing that sports teams have been doing for 100 years.
01:38 One guy leaves, the next guy comes in.
01:40 The next guy, theoretically, could be just as good as Dan Quinn, be better than Dan Quinn.
01:46 Joe Witt won't be the defensive coordinator here.
01:48 The defensive coordinator here that comes in, that wouldn't be theoretical, that that guy would be better than Joe Witt,
01:54 because he'll be probably more experienced than Joe Witt, assuming they go outside the building.
01:59 So this is not a disaster that you lose a coordinator. It happens all the time.
02:04 Dan Quinn is not a miracle worker in Washington.
02:07 They, by the way, in Washington, I think I can speak to Washington fans and media here,
02:11 a big part of them are kind of bored by this because he's not young and sexy and cool.
02:18 He's really good.
02:19 Dan Quinn, his credentials are impeccable as a coach, and his credentials as a person are impeccable as well.
