Ep 1: Social Worker. Mrs Allgood has now been retired after her efforts to find a school for Marmalade Atkins finally exhaust her. In her place comes Wendy Wooley, a social worker who decides that now she is 16 she should instead be enrolled in the new YTS work experience to expend her energies. Ever enthusiastic Marmalade takes on the new challenge, though she baulks at the fact her first experience will be working as a social worker! But her first client does not go according to plan when she is given the task of visiting Mr Machonochie, a former armed robber...

Starring Charlotte Coleman, John Bird, Carol MacCready, Elizabeth Estenden, Russell Hunter, Gillian Raine, Roger Hammond, Patsy Byrne, Prentis Hancock and Richard Moore. This follow up to Educating Marmalade was originally broadcast on February 20th 1984 and saw a notable change in cast when Lynda La Plante departed to write Widows and Carol MacCready took over the role. It also sees the introduction of Elizabeth Estenden just a year or so before she'd find further success in kids TV in T-Bag. This time the writers seem to of remembered it is a kids show, so at first this is more slapstick than satire, but it soon picks up and later episodes are just as outrageous as the original. As with the Educating Marmalade series, you have Zack Smith to thank for these, and I have certainly enjoyed watching them. I think you will too.
