Ep 8: What The Butler Saw. Marmalade is sent into service at Artichoke Hall, an antiquated place with servants still under the system of a century ago. She finds herself skivvy and under thumb to the domineering butler Portnose, but begins to feel that something is not quite right there...
Starring Charlotte Coleman, John Bird, Carol MacReady, Elizabeth Estenden, Bryan Pringle, Anthony Sharp, Diana King, June Ellis, Ulrika Butt and Lisa Maxwell (yes, Sam Nixon from The Bill) as one of the scullery maids. This episode is definitely in the vein of the former series, with numerous dubious quips (involving the butler's pantry) and Marmalade's get up when she poses as the butler near the end guaranteed to see this episode barred from ever being repeated. Mind you, wait until you see episode 9...
