Ep 9: Airplane Atkins. Wendy Wooley gets Marmalade a job experience as an air hostess on a flight that her parents unexpectedly decide to embark on, as do a number of passengers. And little do they know but one of the passengers has a bomb...
Starring Charlotte Coleman, Elizabeth Estenden, John Bird, Carol MacReady, Peter Benson, Peter Bland, Lesley Nunnerley, Malcolm Rogers and Ian Sharp. The title alone is enough to tell you that this episode is spoofing the Airplane and disaster movie genre, but I doubt it would get broadcast today because of it's plotline. Then there is John Bird "swindling the Arabs" (again), only this time he outrageously tries to sell his daughter to one! As Marmalade herself asks him "Are you sure this is legal, dad?" This is an outrageous episode in the old school of Marmalade Atkins, but also rather funny - in particular Peter Benson (the undertaker from Heartbeat) as the nervous pilot back from his "holiday."
