00:00 The series of bomb threats has now reached the Japanese Embassy, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center.
00:09 Since 2021, this is the third time that this has happened, from the same name to almost 30 agencies
00:17 that were targeted yesterday in Metro Manila, aside from the provinces targeted by Maki Pulido.
00:27 At the same time, during the flood, the authorities in the SSS Baguio City Branch
00:34 were just in time after receiving a bomb threat in the email yesterday.
00:37 The two schools in Paete Laguna also received a warning of a bomb threat in the email yesterday.
00:42 But like other countries that received warnings in other places in the country, no bomb was found.
00:48 In Metro Manila, 28 government agencies received a bomb threat in the email
00:53 sent by a hero of the family from a server in Japan.
00:58 The person who owns that name surfaced and denied he has anything to do with it.
01:04 He says it's a stolen identity.
01:06 This is the third incident since 2021 when a bomb threat was sent using an email from a hero of the family.
01:14 But Japan said last year that it was not a Japanese national who was behind the email
01:19 and that it was just used by a server of a hotel in Japan that was compromised.
01:24 It means that anyone can use it even if the email sender is not in Japan.
01:28 This came from a mail exchange server that can be connected to a hotel in Japan.
01:34 So it looks like this particular mail server is compromised.
01:39 Aside from the Philippines, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, and even Japan also received an email bomb threat since 2021.
01:46 In Taiwan, the email sender's name is a hero of the family, according to an IT expert, Art Samaniego.
01:53 But a Chinese man who was targeted by the Taiwanese police is behind this.
01:58 A 24-year-old Chinese student whose name is Zhang.
02:02 He sent the email and when it was connected to him, he went back to Taiwan.
02:09 I think this should also be looked into because there are coincidences.
02:13 I would not wish to elaborate.
02:15 The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center hopes that the suspect's identity will be traced from the server used in Japan.
02:23 This is especially helpful for the Japanese Embassy and the NBI has coordination with the Japanese Interpol.
02:30 The Japanese Embassy confirmed that it has already sent the messages but refused to comment because an investigation is ongoing.
02:37 For GMA Integrated News, Macky Pulido, for Tutok, 24 Hours.
