00:00 Hello and welcome to What's On in Wigan this week. A new art exhibition is set to open
00:10 at the Edge. Seeing Things, which is an art council funded project, runs from February
00:15 20th until February 29th and showcases work from nine artists from Wigan and across the
00:22 North West. The Shards return to Feast at the Mills on Friday, February 23rd for two
00:27 sets of music through the decades played in their own unique acoustic style. The event
00:33 begins at 7.30. A unique event at the Museum of Wigan Life will join the dots and examine
00:39 the lineage of the thriving underground punk scene in Wigan from 1977 to 1992. The panel
00:46 event with guest speakers will identify the cultural significance of this grassroots movement
00:51 of which the reverberations are still being felt today and in the evening there will be
00:55 live performances from The System, Cress and Slutch. The event begins at 4.30pm on Saturday,
01:02 February 24th. And get ready for a night of glam rock favourites from T-Rex, Sweet, Alvin
01:08 Stardust, Mud, David Bowie, Mott the Hoople and many more. Dig out your flares, your platform
01:15 boots, put a bit of glitter on your face and party like it's 1972 at the Boulevard in Wigan
01:21 on Saturday from 8pm.
