00:01 Leaked papers from a Chinese state-linked hacking group
00:04 show widespread cyber intrusion on at least 20 foreign governments and territories,
00:08 including Malaysia.
00:09 The cache contained more than 570 files, photos and chat logs
00:14 showing details about iSoon, a Chinese firm offering hacking and data collection services
00:20 to government agencies, security groups and state-owned enterprises.
00:24 According to The Washington Post, the files which surfaced on GitHub last week
00:28 also revealed contracts for the extraction of foreign data over eight years,
00:32 naming Malaysia as one of the targets.
00:34 Cybersecurity experts said the files were credible,
00:38 highlighting the rarity of such unrestricted access to intelligence operation details.
00:42 The leaked files included a spreadsheet revealing successful hacks into foreign targets,
00:47 including 95.2 gigabytes of migration data from India
00:51 and three terabytes of call records from South Korea's LG U+.
00:55 The firm also targeted telecommunications firms in Malaysia, among other countries.
00:59 FMT has since reached out to the Digital Ministry for comment.
