00:00 MUDA Secretary-General Amir Hadi said the party will hold its party election earlier
00:09 than scheduled, bringing it forward from 2025 to the end of this year.
00:15 Speaking to FMT, Amir said the decision to do so stemmed from unhappiness among members
00:22 with the current leadership.
00:24 However, before the polls are conducted, Amir said MUDA needs to refine its membership system
00:29 - highlighting that anyone could become a member of the party previously.
00:35 He said he hopes to refine the system by the end of March, adding that all positions would
00:40 now be open for members to contest, even the presidency.
00:44 Last year, FMT reported that many MUDA members had complained about being kept in the dark
00:50 on the party's direction and the contents of its constitution.
00:55 He also said decisions by the party's top leadership were not conveyed to the grassroots.
